Cask, Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Hazy gold with a dirty foam. Aromas are vegetables with ginger and lemon marmalade. Floral with base grain. Flavours are bittersweet lemon with grain and ginger with boiled cabbage. OK.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of elderflower, chilli pepper. Flavour of lime chutney and spicy ginger. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. A bit too hot but this grew on me.

Cask conditioned handpump Argyll Arms London 22/07/13. A golden coloured beer with an off-white head and lace. Ginger and orange in the mouth. Ginger and an off sweetness in the nose. This might be good really cold but at cellar temperature it’s quite odd. Interesting I guess but odd.

Light golden and entrails haze from the listless head. Synthetic flat ginger nose. Sweet, flat, cloying ginger. Finish is unpleasant ginger burn. Pathetic.

Cask at Green Dragon, Croydon. It pours clear amber, medium white head. The nose is grainy, biscuit, ginger and light sweetness... a lot like gingernuts! The taste is sweetish, spicy ginger, earth, pithy lemon, grainy and biscuit with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Ok for it is... A fairly one-dimensional gingerbeer.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, white head. The aroma has lots of ginger, with some white bubbles as a head. Malty flavor with ginger and hints of lemon. A decent bitterness too. Medium body, with some warmth towards the end. Guess that’s the ginger causing it. Certainly not a favorite of mine, but it’s a decent ginger beer. 121005

500 ml bottle. Clear golden body with a fast disappearing white head. Aroma is mainly ginger and soap. Flavor is sweet, light malt, soapy ginger, and not much bitterness. Medium body and a bit short aftertaste with even more ginger. I like ginger, but a lot of these British ginger beers seem to be just ginger with no depth.
