Sep 1, 2007 Cask handpull at Standing Order, JDW, Edinburgh. Gold, lasting cream head. Attractive premium bitter, soft due to the sparkler, but decent hop/malt balance, hop is quite tasty and this went down easily enough

Aug 31, 2007 Cask, Standing Order JDW, Edinburgh, RBESG 07. Blonde gold (not bad for something advertised as a red ale on the pumpclip). Peppery, off-smelling vegetable nose. Mouth is hops, bitter end. Rotting fruit. Not good.

Aug 31, 2007 Cask conditioned at The Standing Order, Edinburgh (a JDW pub), as "Strathaven The Standing Order Red Ale" (allegedly brewed specially for this pub). ABV was 5.1%. Amber colour, low head. Very moderate aroma, nothing really stands out, maybe a hint of blackcurrant leaves. Fruity flavour, notes of red berries, decent hops. Quite nice.

Jul 28, 2007 Standing Order Edinburgh... Red ale.. Light brown , smooth mouth feel ... odd grassy back bone to this, common to lotsof Strathaven ales ... some fruity malts ... little caramel andlight hop. It grew on me. Was also a bit cold.
