A full bodied 80/ - ale of a rich chestnut hue. We brew it with a blend of Scottish full malt barley, English first gold and American cascade hops giving it a balanced flavour with a sweet malt finish.

2014-07-09. Ruby tinged dark brown body nice beige head and lace. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly malty, some toasty malt and caramel accents, whisper of oatcakes? Flavour is mildly malty throughout, lightly bitter, muted fruity notes. Relatively mild overall. 6++ Average bodied palate, soft carbonation feels just a touch thin for the beer. Cask at Thomsons Bar, Edinburgh

Cask, Central, St Andrews. Dark brown looks with a creamy off-white head. Roasted malt nose. Similar flavour with notes of brown sugar and dark fruit.. Slightly thin. Alright but not not really my thing.

Scopey (6672) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2013
Bottle from Dunnottar Wines. It pours deep amber-brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is earth, dirt, toast cocoa and over-ripe fruit. The taste is watery, dirt, wood, leather, mouldiness, toast and some astringency with a very dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Body is too thin. Watery and absent of flavour. Not good.

500 ml bottle. Amber body with a small tan head. Aroma has light caramel malt, wood and cellar notes. Flavor has sweet malt, low bitterness, hint of caramel and feels flat and dead. Quite plain and boring with a slightly unpleasant aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2013 Had this out of a 5 litre minikeg but it was flat and lifeless. However tastewise it was promising, a hint if root beer about the taste of this 80/-. A fine take on the form. Must try again.

Cask at White Cross inn beer festival. Dark brown with a little ruby. Thick white head. Chestnuts, toffee nose. Lovely and malty. In the taste there's caramel, honeycomb and a little light lemon. A touch of chocolate and more maltiness in the finish.
