Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in December 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear copper red in colour with a thick creamy white head. Distinct warm yeasty dough note in the short aroma. Creamy mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts deliver a distinct maltloaf base with raisin and clemantine fruit. Good notes of earthy hop resins full in the aftertaste reminded me of Ruddles County of old? Finish is robust and malty with notes of caramel and pomegranate fruit. Had a side by side tasting between this and Stewarts Patron Saint and in my mind Strathaven just about edged it. Recommended.

Aroma - soft fruity light caramel malts, light fruits, bit of a dull nose
Taste - touch of smoke, as aroma, light caramel, bit of apricot fruity malt, not fantastic
Palate - light body, bit oily. Finish - light oily caramel malts with a bit of smokiness, bitter
Overall - Very average....meh
