Cask at the standing order. Pours clear amber, nose is cinnamon, sweet toffee, malty, taste is more cinnamon, sweet toffee, a little thin.

On tap at the Malt Shovel.
Appearance - toffee coloured and nice head.
Nose - cinnamon and toffee.
Taste - quite heavy on the cinnamon but good toffee sweetness and some biscuit spice on the finish.
Palate - medium bodied with a rich texture and a fairly fresh finish considering.
Overall - good ale and a bit different.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2013 Red with an off-white head. Tastes like Christmas. Thatís not necessarily a good thing. Itís a bit spicy, some cinnamon, orange peel... I donít know, brandy? It just tastes like a Christmas pudding. I donít really like Christmas pudding. Nah, itís different, but I canít like this one.

Cask (gravity) @ Cambridge Winter Ale Festival 2013, at the University Social Club, Mill Lane, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England CB2 1RX.
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spicy, cinnamon - christmas spices. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy - christmas spices, cinnamon, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Hazy, ruddy orange. Aroma of mixed peel and a little cinnamon. Tastes the same, but maybe a bit messy. Burps of orange. Nope, it burps of mixed peel. Subtle gentle mixed peel. Quite pleasing.

Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in December 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque orange amber in colour with a thin off white head. Slight note of wine gums and cloves in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Mixed malts give a fiery, almost gingerbread like base with notes of cloves, black pepper and nutmeg prickly in the mouth. There is also a swet glycerine fruit note of redcurrant jam also present. Hint of hop resins in the brief peppery aftertaste but difficult to make out against the Christmas spices in the background. Finish is malty with warming port and orange peel notes evident. A decent winter warmer and recommended.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival, 17th & 18th February 2012 Brown in colour with a slim light beige head, touch of haziness. Touch spicy with a distinct Chruistmas spicy feel to it, little powdery in the mouth and with a light bitterness. Bit of a one trick pony but not a bad one. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Fest í12. Hazed Amber with cream head. Straight in to a slightly odd spicy flavour, corriander and a hint of chilli without the heat, maybe some clove. Mid roast malts, some bitterness but the spice dominates somewhat.
