Pours a light brown with a little bit lighter head. Aroma is caramel. Taste is sweet and clean. Not much going on, easy to drink.

Tasted this on tap at the Selinsgrove Beer & Wine Festival
Very light palate and taste.
I agree with the statement, “This beer didn’t have too much flavor for being a dark beer”.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 dimenhetfield (2354) - , Florida, USA - JUN 17, 2011
12oz bottle poured into a snifter glass. Searching for something special in this beer: aroma, flavor, nothing. Easy to drink but no flavor.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 dpjuart (974) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2011
Pours amber brown, fizzy head, off white. Smells of Yuengling, sweetness. Lacking a middle, but a sweet start with a caramel finish, crisp and clean. A bit of a linger bite from the nobility of Peter Straub. Anywhere that has an Eternal Tap get an extra half a point.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 alexsdad06 (3043) - Ohio, USA - MAY 3, 2011
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber brown color with a medium sized creamy beige head. The aroma is mainly sweet malts with some light herbal notes. The flavor is slightly watery sweet malts with a very bitterness to the finish. Nothing but a straight forward, fairly clean dark lager. Worth trying once.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 28, 2011
An amber lager with a thin off white head. In aroma, faint caramel with light wet dog. In mouth, a roasted barley oatmeal, chalky, boring. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nike (746) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 27, 2011
OK, for a dark beer I believe that many may consider this a disappointment, but never the less, it is still a drinkable beer. Not a full bodied dark. There’s a hint of dark malts that can be smelled. The flavor is more on the nutty, and perhaps a bit toasty, with average malt. Well balanced, there are no hop flavors present. A beer that is affordable and enjoyable.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 dbarnold (1073) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - APR 12, 2011
Regular straub with a little bit of malt flavor. That is to say...tastes like carbonated water with a little malt flavor. Very fizzy. Very light palate and taste. Best of straubs offerings...
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 jcos (1175) - Maryland, USA - APR 11, 2011
Bottle brought back to me from St. Mary’s by Dave. Pours a brown, clear color. Aroma is a little promising, somewhat malty. Taste is like a mediocre Budweiser with a little bit more malt. Nothing special, just a dark nearly BLS.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PapaSkeetSkeet (678) - Corvallis, Oregon, USA - OCT 31, 2010
brilliant orange-amber with a creamy, cream-colored head. Smells like nuts and malty caramel, old blanket, hay. Palate is lighter-bodied than anticipated based on aroma, slightly syrupy with a very creamy carbonation. watered down malty caramel turning into Brazilian nut about one second in. Only a mild hop bitterness, little hop-flavor. Very interested, so added points to overall, but still a session beer with diluted flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel.
