Relatively sweet all around and far too much to be sessionable.... let alone enjoyable. Extremely High sharp carbonation.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Straub American Lager has a thin-to-medium, white head, a rather hazy, yellow-gold appearance, noticeable white sediment suspended throughout, lots of streaming bubbles, and some splotchy lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, biscuity malt and grassy hops. The flavor is of those elements, with a tiny hop bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Straub American Lager finishes crisp and refreshing, but a little flat on flavor. RJT

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Transfer from BA and reviewed on 2-6-12 -
Poured from bottle into pint glass while watching the super bowl.
Appearance - A pale golden color with a white head. The head fades rather quickly leaving very little lacing.
Smell - Sweeter malt of corn and a bit of caramel is most predominant at first. A bit later however, some hop aroma works its way in with some floral and more earthy aromas.
Taste - A sweet corn maltiness first meets the tongue. The more subtle flavor then of comparable priced american lagers is quite pleasant and not overbearing. Toward the end of the taste, some of the hoppiness that is present in the nose comes into the taste as well. Really not too bad.
Mouthfeel - Very average turbidity and carbonation level. Very drinkable, but nothing exceptional.
Overall - A very easy drinking session beer. Nothing to be savored, but a good brew for football tailgating and/or watching the game. Somehow it just seems right for it.
