Nice brew from Straub, thank to my beer buddy cheap. I like the idea of Straub trying some different brews, tasty, easy to drink. I hopeing they come out with an "ipa", I’ll buy cheap that one!!

12 ounce bottle thanks to cheapdark...OK just cheap. Pours a cloudy copper color, almost orange, with a small white head. A light nose of yeast, toffee and caramel. Big sweet flavor with more caramel, dusty yeast, bread, some banana esters. Quite nice. I love me some Straub.

Pours light honey colored with a rich white head. Aromas of German malts, grains, honey, and a good dose of earthy hops. Sweet flavor but balanced. Medium body, low carbonation, and very smooth. Much more enjoyable than I was expecting.

From a bottle, quite strong and sweetly rude. Certainly has more personality than I was expecting for this bewer. Definitely the most over the top beer I’ve had from straub. If you are a fan of the well mannered easy going regular straub, better not try this. Cloying at times. Straus has gained the ability to be insulting as any other micro brewer. What’s next? Straub double IPA, wew. I think to myself, "not impressed" as I reach for a bottle of real straub.

(draft @ The Eternal Tap at the Straub Brewery - St. Marys, PA) Copper pour with a thick off-white head. Slightly hoppy aroma with a nice malt backbone. Flavor is a bit bitter at the start with a smooth malt finish. Smooth with a light sweetness at the end. I dig it.

Not bad. A little of an unimpressive body with sharp ending. Lacks nice malty body.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Double decoction German bock aroma. Sweet and malty with light herbal hops. Medium amber golden clear with thin white head. Medium body with light carbonation. Starts and stays sweet with rich malt flavor. Nice hop finish, and sweet lingering after. Very nice!

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark golden color with a large creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy sugar and vague candied fruits. The flavor was sweet, tangy, yeasty and light golden fruits. Medium length tangy golden fruits and yeast finish. Moderately full bodied. Pretty tasty.

Bottle. Pours a clear light copper body with a small frothy white head that faded slowly to a thin covering. The nose is nicely malty with some honey like sweetness and caramel and a light touch of hoppiness. The flavor is pretty solid, the sweetness is kept in check well, a light honey note throughout. The finish has a bit of a slight chemical like more that seems a bit out of place. A light leafy hoppiness on the finish as well. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Not a bad interpretation, I could actually do with a little less hoppiness than is in here.

A very straightforward offering of the heller bock style. Crisp, nice hops blend with the malt.
