COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied American lager unlike most, Stroh’s beer sports a craft brew pedigree. Enriched with hop varieties usually found only in craft brews, Stroh’s lager offers a distinct and distinguished taste with a preponderance of Cascade and Willamette hops from the great Northwest. Pungent and pleasing, Stroh’s stands apart from the usual lager taste profile in flavor, but not in alcohol.

Pale yellow beer with a puffy white head. Lots of carbination. Actually has a distinct aroma - malt with a reasonable bit of hops in there. Decent flavor with a faint hoppy finish as the most distinctive element. Has retained some of the character of the old firebrewed Strohs, but seems to be watered down. Not at all bad for a cheap beer - it manages to have some character.

12oz can 4/11/13 (Binny’s Plainfield Retro Brand Mixed Six)-38° in Mug-Pours a lighter golden with a white head. Aroma or hops, malt, and sweetness. Taste of the same with a bolder hop presence. This light bodied brew is heavier than most of the other pale lager but still not the best.

Had this one at Green Dot Stables in Detroit -- you gotta check this place out if you’re in the area. As I had this from a bottle, I can’t judge the appearance -- though I have seen pictures. Typical, average looking BMC-like beer. Not much to be said. Very average, indeed. Smell: You get that adjunct smell. Corn. Weak, cheap malts. Nothing too appealing or special. Taste: I got this expecting it to maybe be like a Blue Ribbon, but Stroh’s pales in comparison. This is a drinkable, better-than-BMC macro that I wouldn’t mind having again, but I’d definitely take a PBR over this one. PBR’s hint of sweetness and seemingly better quality makes me choose that one over Stroh’s.

A standard, pissy American old school lager that you probably snuck from your dad’s supply in the garage refrigerator at some point when you were in Junior High (at least I did). Slightly more flavor than seltzer, but it has some alcohol in it so not completely useless.

Can, from one of the revolutionary 15 packs!

Perfectly golden, the head is big and fluffy and white and leaves good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is fairly sweet, kind of corny... not really offensive... not really attractive....

The flavor is not overly sweet but a little bit corny. There is a pronounced hop note which is nice enough. The flavor is fairly clean.

This is pretty ok for what it is, I’ve drank a whole bunch of them over the years.

Can from AMP 150 at the Cleveland Airport Marriott. Obviously, a pretty light, dull pale lager. However, there is more flavor here than Bud and some of the other standard macro pales.

Cans do not have as good a taste as bottle......and bottles are getting HARD TO FIND!!! At least in Columbus Ohio and only Kroger on West Broad has it near as I can tell on a regular basis. It’s no substitute for my favorite Hasenbrau Pilsner but since I can’t make it to Germany on a regular basis.....I guess I will suffer!!! lol

Maybe I’m nostalgic because this was my first beer. Stroh’s is noticeably heavier than the average American lager. It’s a little more bitter too. It had a distinctive character when it was still brewed in Detroit but it’s not quite the same since the brewing has been contracted through SAB-Miller. Stroh’s is getting hard to find.

Aroma is almost nonexistent. Taste has no character. Overall at least it’s drinkable.

In the old days when it was "fire-brewed" in Detroit, it was more like fire-burnt. Only tolerable on tap and be prepared for a wicked headache the next day

Straight from the can. Not bad. Easy to drink on a really hot day. Slight hop finish.
