Flat black and syrupy, with coffee, toffee and old wine barrels on the nose, rich black treacle and milk chocolate palate, hints of strawberry and vanilla, funky woody overlay. Fascinating.

38cl, new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2012, with vanilla, thx to thewolf!, very complex Stout, roasted/malty and slightly woody/sweet, not too heavy, balanced, clear, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!

Bottle, rated from backlog. Aroma heavy and dark; roasted malt, molasses, caramel and vanilla. Flavor is sweet, roasted notes, port wine, vanilla and alcohol.

Bottle at home. Pours pitchblack with a small dark brown head. Lovely. Aroma of malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is like the aroma but also has liquorice, vanilla and dark fruit notes. Body is viscous and syrupy. Initially sweet but has a long malty aftertaste with a bit of alcohol in it. VERY good.

Black of color with a small beige brown head. An aroma of liqurice, burnt malt and weak soya. A flavor of sweet liqurice, weak bitter, a little burnt and a bitter dry liqurice finish.

Black color, brown head. Sweet, alcohol, sausage, smoke scent. Smoke, alcohol, sweet, chocolate taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a dark tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate, vanilla, cocoa, and roasted malt. Flavour is roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, and some warming alcohol – with a bitter finish.

Bottle at home. Pours jet black with a small brown head. The aroma is loads of roasted malts, liquorice, coffee and oak. The flavour is liquorice, hard roasted malt, bitter hops, tar, coffee and light chocolate. Long roasted finish. Heavy roasted stuff!

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Nose of roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate.. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit notes. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. Ends up more dry and with alcohol notes. A very nice impy. ★★★★

On tap at Ølfestival 2012. It’s a black one, topped by a finger-thick, tan head. The aroma is roasted, with lots of coffee and a touch of vanilla. The flavor is quite sweet, with coffee and roasted malts, and some vanilla. Herbal notes towards the else coffee-bitter finish. Lightly warming and almost sticky on the palate, medium to full body. The coffee like aroma and flavor is what I like the most of this one, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 120512
