330ml bottle @ Maunula beer tasting. Thanks Mikko! Bottle from Systembolaget.

Black outfit with small circle brown foam. Aroma of strong cold coffee. Taste of burned coffee beans and ash. Good one for this ABV but 330ml bottle for 3persons is good enough.

Black color. Heavy coffee aromas, honey. Intense coffee taste, roasted coffee beans, day old coffee. The coffee taste is not pleasant. Bitter coffee finish.

Breakfast beer split in the Fart Dungeon, SF, thanks to Viktor 29/01/16. Black topped with a dirty tan covering. Nose is big on coffee grinds, peppery spice, wooded notes, chocolate, dark malts. Taste comprises chocolate, spice, less intense coffee than the nose, dark roast, toffee fudge. Full bodied, oily viscous feel,, sweet close with a rising boost level. Not at all bad.

Bottle shared by VsXsV in San Francisco, breaking in our small one-night hotel room for the inaugural fart share. Thanks, Viktor! 2013 vintage, so I didn’t expect much from this one. Pours a deep, nearly opaque brown color with almost no head. Roasted malts, coffee (!), dark chocolate, fudge, sugars, honey, soy, oak, and syrup. Medium-full bodied, with modest carbonation and a sweet, warming, gritty, almost chalky mouthfeel. The big body helps this one hold up after a few years. Not bad. Would like to try this beast fresh.

Bottle shared in SF - many thanks to big Vik. Pours deep brown with a foamy off-white head. The nose holds hard ashy roast, baking cocoa, burnt wood. Heavy sweet flavor, lots of thick ashy roasted malts, bitter chocolate, scorched earth. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Cloying sweetness in the finish, more harsh ash, sugary chocolate, dark fruits. Novel, but only enjoyable in small doses.

12oz bottle at my parents place in NYC after flying all day back from Stockholm. Its alright. Coffee tastes a little synthetic, and the malt notes are flat.

33cl bottle (2013), served in Snifter. Pours black with small tan head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate and biscuit. Taste is the same with honey added. Actually the honey seems to balance the huge amounts of coffee (and the same works the other way around). Moderately bitter and the alcohol heat it isn’t too strong for a 17.5% beer. Mouthfeel is full, soft carbonation. Very pleasant.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with very little head. Aromas of fresh black coffee, ash, molasses and alcohol. Flavors of kahlua, vanilla extract, burnt malts and alcohol. Good but a bit of a burn.

Backlogging, notes from memory. One and a half year old bottle. Poured into my favorite snifter. Dark almost black colour with no head whatsoever. Consistency like soy sauce. Holy hell that aroma! Huge coffee smell, freshly ground coffeebeans, burnt notes, the alchohol is quite noticeable, sweet syrup/honey. Flavour is right up there with the nose, big coffee, dark chocolate, cocolate cake, floral honey notes. The alcohol is showing through but not as much as I would have though for 17,5 abv. Very sticky velvety mouthfeel. I for one thoroughly enjoyed this one, though it certainly isn’t for everyone.
