Sample from tap, CBF 2014. Pitch black with a dense, tanned head. Sweet, roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate, a herbal sweetness - honey, liquorice, light alcohol notes. Taste is sweet. Full body with an oily texture. Finishes dry and herbal bitter with rich malts and chocolate. Light booze. Good.

Draught @ Fermentoren. Opaque pitch black color, medium to full sized dark brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts and a bit weird somehow... A lot of liquorice and I don’t know what it is but I totally dislike it. Weird, a bit smoky, plant-like and tobacco. Yuk, not my thing at all.

Draft @ Fermentoren. Pours a pitch black, almost headless beer. Aroma of massive licorice, molasses, chewing tobacco and overripe red fruits. Flavor starts off nice and moderately sweet with touches of the caramel and molasses. But that’s when shit hits the fan. Suddenly there’s an explosion of chewing tobacco strangeness, which is really disgusting to be honest. WTF is going on with this beer here. The aftertaste lingers in the back for a long time. Sadly disappointing.

On tap @ Fermentoren, Copenhagen. Pours pitch black with a thick light brown head. Aroma is mostly of roasted malt, chocolate & coffee. Taste is pretty much like aroma but also has notes of molasses, honey, soy, dark sweet fruits and licorice. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Very sweet but nowhere near Stronzo’s own 1000 EBC. Very good.

_angst_ (2610) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 29, 2014
Draught @ Haket. Pours viscous pitch black with a frothy and creamy dark mocha head that slowly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, soy sauce, dark roast coffee, chocolate, molasses, sweet and salty liquorice candy, leather, raisins and prunes. Taste is sweet, bitter, fruity and malty with roasted malts, heavy raisins, dark roast coffee, moist soil, leather, burnt cereal, caramel, burnt oatmeal cookies, hay, prunes, dates, chocolate, purple winegums and soy sauce. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly sticky sweet and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, slightly bitter, malty and fruity with roasted malts, burnt oatmeal cookies, caramel, raisins, prunes, hay, moist soil, leather and sweet soy sauce. Quite tasty and dangerously easy to drink. Perhaps slightly too sweet...
