Vintage Ale 2011: Maris Otter barley was bred by Dr G.D.H. Bell in the mid 1950s to brew traditional cask conditioned ales and has become acknowledged as the finest brewing malt in the world. This characterful pale ale has been brewed using only 2011 vintage organic Maris Otter barley, and English organic First Gold hops.

Bottle; 33cl; home; courtesy of @Clayfiish on Twitter. It exploded! A nice thick white lacing. Copper-bronze in colour. Aroma is musty; hey; sweet roasted nuts; spices; cinnamon and some high abv sweet liquor. Taste is incredibly sweet malts; lemon; rosemary; hey; perfume and floral hops. This should be a vintage spring ale as it’s reminding me of spring ales. It’s a good English style but nothing particularly exciting. It’s incredibly drinkable and not oxidised either. Well-made!

Ganska god ale ifrån ett för mig nytt bryggeri. Skulle gärna prova fler ifrån dem. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Doftar lite disktrasa. Rätt så tam o ingen wow känsla försvinner fort i smak tyvärr. Så ingen favorit

Skummet dog på en gång. Lite kryddpeppar i doften och lite i smaken sen. Söt och ganska ok men inget som utmärker mig

Flaske 0,33l. Gift from Fin, Loz & Isobel. Thanks a lot! Drukket hjemme 17 Okt 13. Aprikosfarget. Lavt skum som blir nesten helt borte. Litt uklar. Behagelig fruktaroma. Smaken er syrlig frukt med innslag av mandler. Smaken holder seg lenge. Litt bunnfall - og veldig uklar siste kvelling.

@ Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget. Fruktig, hög sötma, karamell, marsipan?, fyllig, alkoholvärmande. Söt medellång avslutning.

330ml bottle bought at Systembolaget in Växjö last summer. Close to clear, dark golden body. Loose beige, poor lacing-head. Earthy malts and dusty hops to the nose. Flavours of herbal malts and dried fruits followed by resinous hops to the ending. Warming alcohol. Medium bodied and smooth in the mouth. Has got its moments (Tromsø 18.10.2013).

Appearance: Clear deep golden color with a tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Malty and rich fruity.
Palate: Medium + body. A bit sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Dominating fruity, some spices and malty.
Overall impression: Not my cup of tea. Seemed a bit unbalanced.
Personal stats: Bottle from Systembolaget in Strömstad, Sweden.

Bottle 33cl from Jan, shared with calisky. A cloudy amber ale with almost no head. Nose is on orange and caramel. Aroma is on over ripped fruits, sweet, burnt caramel touch, grape notes. Body is on grain and cereals, lot of yeast, hazelnut finish with light acidity.
