Vintage Ale 2011: Maris Otter barley was bred by Dr G.D.H. Bell in the mid 1950s to brew traditional cask conditioned ales and has become acknowledged as the finest brewing malt in the world. This characterful pale ale has been brewed using only 2011 vintage organic Maris Otter barley, and English organic First Gold hops.

Det här var en god men framförallt intressant och komplex. Smaken bär söta toner av karamell och torkad frukt. Ölen är ytterst välbalanserad och kroppen är stabil, men i slutändan är det ändå komplexiteten som imponerar mest på mig.

330ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, deep straw, with a thin, white head. Malty, spicy, quite hoppy aroma, caramel, apricot, earth, nuts, yeast. Dry, medium body and bitterness, slightly low CO2. Malty, spicy taste, caramel, fudge, apricot, almonds, hops, earth, dried fruits, marzipan. Quite robust and sturdy, but tasty. (2012-07-17)

Bottle: Hazy yellow colour, thin white head. Aroma is dominated of caramelly, sweet maltynes, vanilla, and hopy , fruity. Flavor: Sweet maltynes, mixed with vanilla, caramelly, alcy! This is a complex beer who do not look like a English strong Ale, but its ok enyway, medium to full body, long caramelly, alcy finish.

Bottle from Systemet. Rapidly disappering head. Golden amber colour. Very malty with a caramell, almost melassy taste. Feels a bit like a "home brew" but much more classy. Indeed a very nice strong ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting - London. One from L-Dawg. Pours clear gold with a fine, white cream cap. Rich, dry and lightly toasted malt aroma, with hints of toasted hay. Medium to big sweet flavor with some toasty bread, straw, faint honey and mild, ripe apple. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with sugary bread, lightly dry bitter hay and mellow caramel. Not bad but very basic. Still, a decent ESA.
