Bottle at 4.9% from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light gold with a slight white head. Aroma of grassy and herbal hops. Med body. Flavor is lightly bready, and there’s a good dose of noble hop. It is crisp and clean. However, it needs just more grassy hop to put it up there with the top runners. Finishes fairly dry.

Draft a Max’s. A reasonable, though not spectacular pilsner. Very pale, clear straw-yellow pour. Strong cereal aroma with grassy hop notes. Not quite has good a flavor as the aroma suggests. Yeast and cereal dominate with a moderate hop finish.
