Tap at Het Oude Schooltje, Oostvleteren - 23/03/13. Clear mid golden with a decent off white head. Nose is soured fruits, light hop notes, touch soapy, sugars. Taste comprises sweet sugars, caramel, woody notes. Full end of medium bodied with some bite but surprisingly drinkable for 11.5%, fine carbonation, sweet and boozey in the finish. Drinkable fayre but some way from the best strong Struise offering.

Mineral aroma. Slightly spicy. Warm finish. I did like this even though the words don’t really show that -- Anna

Tap at CBC. Pours full hazy orange amber with higher carbonation. Webby to sheets of lacing. Impressive retention. Nose is sticky, candy heavy, light body odor (??). Taste is heavy butterscotch, caramel, grapefruit, orange, light sweet tarts, with big hoppy balance. Aerated, sticky palate. I was pretty sure this was a barleywine with part of the Doggie Claws recipe but maybe it is supposed to be DIPA.

Tap at CBC, May 2012. It pours golden yellow, with a decent white head. The nose is fresh pine, sweet tangerine, orange, grapefruit and a touch of farmyard. The taste is orange ,sweet tangerine, mango, resin, pine, grass, spice, soap and alcohol warmth, with a bitter-dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Clear deep golden. Somewhat yeasty aroma of fruits and hops. Fruity, yeasty, hoppy flavor, quite dry and bitter with a hint of graininess.
