On tap at CBC2012. Deep golden in the glass. Mild spicy aroma. Starts dry-hoppy, modest sharp. Gets milder and milder, dry notes in the background. Mld-hoppy finish, some wheaty hints. Okay.

Sample at ’het Schooltje’ Oostvleteren. I always imagine that the quality of the beer deteriorates a little because it’s kept for a longer time in the ’tap trailer’. Though amazing idea! Appearance: clear blonde beer, huge stable white head. Nose: sugar, wheat, lots of grains, hops, alcohol. Taste: very dense beer, bitter, lots of hops, rather alcoholic finish. Not completely in balance, but nice beer.

Tap at Het Oude Schooltje, Oostvleteren - 23/03/13. Clear mid golden with a decent off white head. Nose is soured fruits, light hop notes, touch soapy, sugars. Taste comprises sweet sugars, caramel, woody notes. Full end of medium bodied with some bite but surprisingly drinkable for 11.5%, fine carbonation, sweet and boozey in the finish. Drinkable fayre but some way from the best strong Struise offering.

From tap @Borefts 2012. Hazed deep gold. Firm white head. Citrus zesty and resionous hop nose. Notes of malt drops and candied fruits. Taste is sugary malt-sweetness, and a bold fruity and resiny bitterness. Full. Soft and oily. Lingering fruity bitter ending.

Poured with an amber color and an off-white head. Whisky, oak, dark fruits, hints of vanilla in the aroma. Medium body with sweet taste and a somewhat bitter finish.

24/11/12 - on tap @ Struise Schooltje (Oostvleteren) - BB: n/a (2012-1306) Thanks to Carlo for the sample!

Clear orange beer, very big yellow creamy head, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, bit cheesy, sourish, green banana. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very fruity, peaches, candy, little sweet, bitter, more fruitiness. Aftertaste: peaches, fruity, nice hop bitterness, alcohol is noticeable, citrus, dry ending.

From tap, a wild version of Lion Claws. Still fermenting in the tank when served (bretty cells working hard for the good!) Pours light orange with massive white foam. Aromas are unbelievable and so powerfull: fruity, hoppy, grassy, woody ... and like a Condrieu wine i.e. peach and apricot notes. Dried fruits and almond ... huge massive brew. I love it !
