COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration brew with Stillwater Artisanal Ales (USA). Crowned last week with a golden Award for Best newcomer in the world 2011.

This Belgian Strong Ale was married to a still young but powerful style, the Black IPA. You’ll discover a smooth chocolate like strong ale together with the high & bitter hop schedule of an IPA, and you get a great result...

Draft. A black beer with a brown shine under a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruits, malt, caramel, roasted malt, and a bit of nuts, leading to a dry fruity finish. The alcohol ticklies the tongue.

On tap. pours a hazy and opaque dark brown with a creamy beige head. Sweetish sugary nose with raisins and a little yeast. Full-bodied, a little low in carbonation, again raisins and dark sugars, a little yeast and friendly phenols with a lightly spicy edge. Warming alcohol in the finish. Lovely. 140311

Bottled. Cloudy near black, small head. Distinct ginger aroma. Sweetish, near full bodied with multi layered flavours of milk chocolate, ginger, sugar, aniseed and pljm brandy. Mildy warming with slight ginger burn. Confusing beer, took me a good while to start enjoying.

Bottle shared at ACBS courtesy of the Thornbridge guys I think! Cheers! Opaque dark brown beer. Residual pale tan head. Light semi dry palate. Sweetish dark malt base. Strong minty hops - almost medicinal. Sweet fruit to the fore before the dry finish, some spice as well. Very interesting. Looking forward to trying again after it has aged a few months.

Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels
Black color; medium sized head. The aroma is herbal (heater, mint). Good chocolate flavor, with some residual sweetness, and light minty touch. Correct bitterness; quite evident alcohol warmth in the final. Strange.
