4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Slightly blackish dark brown with a red hue and some beige bubbles. Nose is a bit ruled by oxidation given the base beers age, light dusty with tobacco leaves, sticky dark fruits, very light balsamic vinegar. Tastes lightly musty, dark fruits, some prunes & figs, tobacco leaves, burned / heavily roasted coffee and chocolate, very interesting, almost lightly roasted malts, cacao, light touch of balsamic vinegar and tangy red cherries and some cherry pits, sweet malts. Very smooth & full. Quite good – unfortunately I never really liked the 2008 Vintage of Aardmonnik – 2007 on the other hand is one of the greatest sours in existence – love drinking that one regularly. 2005 is pretty good as well. I need a bigger sour kick – I think 2007 Aardmonnik is still the place to be for me. Still this is quite interesting.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Rating number 600. Blended by Urbain at Borefts Beer Festival together with RasmussOtt and Travlr. Urbain both blended Aardnon from Aardmonnik and Pannepot Reserva 2005, which this rating is for, but he also tried to blend Aardmonnik with Pannnepot Special Reserva 2008. Pours a lovely deep chesnut with a love light tanned head. Aroma is just insane in every aspect, loads of fruits - cherries, plums, prunes, dark grapes, almond, balsamico, lovely oak and a spiciness like cinnamon. Notes of the fruity and dark sugary Pannepot yeast, but also the wildness from the Aardmonnik with some brett, balsamico vinegar and dry oak. The taste was just as beautiful, matches all the insane complexity of the aroma. Perfect balance between the sweet yeast, caramel and dark fruits and port notes and the oaky wildness, the brett notes, sour cherries. The experiment with the Pannepot Special Reserva was even more fruity, lots of grape and fresh cherries, felt a bit more young. That one would’ve been a perfect 5 for me if that was rateable, but the one with Pannepot Reserva 2005 was amazing as well. Thanks to Urbain for blending this very special beer for us to enjoy. Cheers!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2012 Blended in a Fantome tulip by Urbain. This beer was reddish brown with a small tan head. The aroma was full of plums, fig, mollases and hints of sour fruits. Flavors were the same with a wonderul balance of malt sweetness and sourness. This beer was even better because of the man that blended it. Urbain is not only a fantastic brewer but also a gentleman and a scholar.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours extremely dark ruby color, almost brown. Thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet-ish and sour at the same time. Lots of dark fruits, molasses, figs and resin from the Pannepot and the acidic sour note from the Earthmonk. Vinegary and bready. Taste is similar. extremely balanced between the sweet belgian yeast notes and the flemish red sourness. IN practice, it’s a Pannepot Reserva with a vinegary flemish red final kick to it. Medium bodied and very soft carbonation. Overall, it’s simply amazing and extremely balanced. So tasty and easy to drink you can never have enough of this.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
What a privilege it is to experience this amazing beer, blended by the master Urbain himself for Phredrik and RasmusOtt at this years Borefts Beer Festival, who then graciously agreed to share it. It pours a dark red brown color with little or no head. The deep and intangible aroma boasts port, sugar, deep dark berries, balsamico, cherries, a lot of excellent spices, vinegar and a gentle circumference of oaky sweetness. The equally mysterious and inscrutable taste unveils its lustrous contnents in a soft velvety manner, undoubtedly only admitting a fraction of its grace to my mere human tastebuds. What other intricate labyrinthine tastes lie beneath the boundaries of the human sensory apparatus, I won’t dare to estimate. It is intensely fruity with balsamico, dark berries, dried fruits, oak, raisins and some delicate age-characteristics. The balance is damn near perfect on this one. Everything fits and adds to the overall experience.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
GT2 and I tried this blend at the Kulminator once, and failed miserably. This time, it was blended by the Man, the Myth and the Legend himself, at the request of Phredrik and rasmusott from the land of the Vikings. The aroma had more fruits it it than I can name, but especially prunes, plums and raisins. The taste was spectacular, complex roasty chocolate and port wine, with great character. This experience alone made the BBF worthwhile!
