Yet another gift from Mes, nice one our kid! Reddy purple with a thin pink head. Little malt lick on a tasty cherry base. Low carbonation. A very tasty and refreshing drink with a lovely long sweet finish. Lovely.

Bottle 33cl. Clear medium to dark red color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to light red head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, cherry, light hoppy, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light acidic with a average duration. Very refreshing and fresh like a good fruit beer. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090306]
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 marcus (5014) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUL 24, 2009
Bottle at Kulminator. This bright red beer poured with a thin pink head and a strong cherry aroma. There is a delicate cherry flavor floating on a nice malt base. There is a slightly sour finish and just a little carbonation. The label asserts "this is not a kriek."

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts sourish like a good kriek, nicely fruity, a bit woody. Sourishness stays behind, doesn’t become too much. Modest dry and fruity finish. Tastes like a good kriek. I liked it! Big thanks to bierkoning for the bottle!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (9005) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 18, 2009
Bottle at Kulminator. Pours a dark cherry with a slight frothy pink head. Aroma is rather kriek. Medium body with decent carbonation. Flavor is slightest funk with a firm sour/kriekness. Finishes nicely sour cherry. If it’s not a kriek (says the label) I am unsure what it is. It’s all kriek to me.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - JUL 17, 2009
Bottle, thanks Patrik! Muddy reddish-purple colour. Woody, funky nose with sweet cherry. The tartness and wood lends this one a certain freshness. Dry beer, even a bit thin. Moderately sharp lactic notes and a fresh cherry finish. It’s no oude kriek, but it’s a nice sour cherry.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUL 14, 2009
Bottle, thanks to oh6gdx (Patrik) for sharing. Pours a gorgeous opaque jewel tone bright ruby red. Excellent sour cherry lambicesque aroma oozing character, funky yet clean. The cherries are so intense in this rich, lovely aroma. I also smell some cedar/aromatic wood after that. The palate is smooth, very soft and the high carbonation does not seem fizzy at all. The flavors are more lactic than the aroma lets on. The cherry character here is fabulous, and in total harmony with the lactic acid and other sourness. Nice sweet malts too. This I can drink a lot of!

Bottled (thanks fonefan!). Amber colour, small pinkish head. Aroma is sour and tart cherries along with some rather malty and sugary notes. Flavour is tart and dry cherries, some wood and mild breadyness. Also spices and yeast.

A Mes rate: bottle from the Alvinne shop. Awesome candy apple red colour with a thin pinkish head. Stunning fresh cherry aroma, green but excellent. Plenty of wood and bretty character too. A little on the tinny side in the mouth giving it a sucking a freshly cut finger type flavour. Impressively tart and lively, plenty of carbonation. We’re sat here on a glorious summer evening with the doors open out onto our terrace and this is fitting the moment just right. So so much cherry in this. The Kerasus comes through clear as day yet the awesome Struise sour madness underneath still has room to sing. Superb tarty lemon cherry finish with really good length. I know I like it but I feel I love the unblended originals a little more.
