COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian Royal Stout was brewed as a tribute to one of America’s best pubs. Jennifer and Chris Lively who run the place may be proud of Ebenezer’s Pub. Not only do they have 35 beers on draught, most of these are hard to find Supreme Belgian Ales. Above that, they have one of the most extensive bottle-conditioned beer lists through different bottling dates we have ever seen. Not only can you drink almost any Belgian beer, the worlds best brewery’s are represented. A lot of the guests talk about the American Kulminator, yet with that difference that the Belgian inspired food, is simply great. Black Albert was brewed and crafted with a 100% Belgian ingredients. Pours a blacker than black beer with an inch of dark tan head that lingers as it cascades into itself. Nice aroma of bitter-sweet chocolate, fresh torrified coffee beans, barley, candy sugar, complex fruits, and floral hops. At the front, there is spiced baker’s chocolate, fresh mocha, caramel like barley touches, and underlying hints of dried fruits which marries the back of your palate and features a Top, and well integrated but not overbearing hop flavour. The after-taste is well balanced and shows a panorama of extreme sensations like chocolate and coffee bitters, a plum cake richness that covers the palate, and a crisp impression of hop bitters that brings elegance and freshness into this massive brew. Bottle sampled with Mad_indian. Pours dark with a one and a half creamy light tan head. Aroma of belgian spices, dark chocolate, and mild roast. The flavor is sweet dark chocolate, spices, roast, caramel, with lively carbonation, and a good body. Very smooth, nicely done.

Bottle. Pitch black, espresso, fizzy head, quickly dissipates. Black licorice, candied pecans, chocolate icing, plum fruit esters, dark dry raw chocolate/cocoa. Well attenuated, with a chalky, milk chocolate powder finish. Baked brownies breadiness. A hint of sugary syrup. Very clean overall, a clean hop bitterness (earthy), not acrid. Dangerously drinkable.

330 mL bottle(s) shared by ebone1988. Motherfucker gave me my own bottle! Thanks! The pour is a jet black with a thin dark khaki colored head that falls to a thicker collar, leaving no lace. The aroma is really good. It's not especially layered, but is quite complex. The first shallow hit offers a light fruitiness in front of a sweet chocolate and a beautiful roast. There is a cross between raisins and a sweet licorice. The deeper you inhale, the better it gets. There is a roasty booziness that really defines it, but the dark chocolate leads to a nice bitterness. Also present is a light gingerbread type of hint, adding a little spice here. This smells great. The flavor is, well, not up to snuff compared to the aroma. There is a lot of roast and a light bitterness before the dark fruits take over. There are multiple fruits that poke through. Raisins and plums for sure, and a lighter fruit is also present. There is a little booze that comes through. It's a little disappointing with the aroma that was offered. The mouth feel is a little thin and slightly watery. The carbonation is soft, and not quite as good as it should be. The aftertaste is sweet chocolate and a lightly dark, bitter roast. It's good, for sure, but not as good as it could've been. Well done though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottles shared with koleminer20. Aroma is roasted malt, licorice, some kind of baking spice, like a gingerbread cookie, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, complex and very nice. Appearance is black, dark brown head, poured like motor oil. Taste is dark fruit, roasted malt, licorice, chocolate, coffee, but not as much happening in the flavor as in the aroma. Mouthfeel is a bit thinner than I wanted, medium to heavy body with light carbonation, roasted malt in the aftertaste. Overall, this is very good despite my true expectations not being met.

This is a very complex RIS. It poured jet black with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edge of the glass. The smell is chocolate, coffee, raisins, and a little booze at the end. The taste follows suit but there is an element of flavor that lets you know it's Belgian. The feel is thick and chewy the way you'd want for this style. This is an outstanding stout!

Bottled, 330ml at Nuetnigenough, Brussels. Black with tan head. This was super intense with bitter chocolate flavours to the fore, heavy on the palate, drying, burnt malt hints. Lasting forever. Big and beastly, a beer to savour.

Tap @ Basement Beer Bar at Blackout Days, Aalborg. Aroma of roasted malts, soy sauce, brown sugar, spicy and vinous. Black with tan head, mostly diminishing. Taste is moderate sweet and moderate malt bitterness, some alc. sweetness too. Full body, creamy velvety texture, soft carb., alc. and malt bitterness in finish.

Too boozy here. Aroma of booze and some chocolate. My least favorite of a stout tasting. Had at kasers.
