COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian Royal Stout was brewed as a tribute to one of America’s best pubs. Jennifer and Chris Lively who run the place may be proud of Ebenezer’s Pub. Not only do they have 35 beers on draught, most of these are hard to find Supreme Belgian Ales. Above that, they have one of the most extensive bottle-conditioned beer lists through different bottling dates we have ever seen. Not only can you drink almost any Belgian beer, the worlds best brewery’s are represented. A lot of the guests talk about the American Kulminator, yet with that difference that the Belgian inspired food, is simply great. Black Albert was brewed and crafted with a 100% Belgian ingredients. Pours a blacker than black beer with an inch of dark tan head that lingers as it cascades into itself. Nice aroma of bitter-sweet chocolate, fresh torrified coffee beans, barley, candy sugar, complex fruits, and floral hops. At the front, there is spiced baker’s chocolate, fresh mocha, caramel like barley touches, and underlying hints of dried fruits which marries the back of your palate and features a Top, and well integrated but not overbearing hop flavour. The after-taste is well balanced and shows a panorama of extreme sensations like chocolate and coffee bitters, a plum cake richness that covers the palate, and a crisp impression of hop bitters that brings elegance and freshness into this massive brew. UPDATED: MAR 9, 2013 Bottle. Black with a thick diminishing tan head. Aroma is vinous, roasted malt, fruit, a little coffee and chocolate. Taste is medium+ sweet, medium+ bitter, medium/full body, medium carbonation, oily texture. Finish is long and mellow with grain and roasted malt. Hides the alcohol really well. Knocked over the glass, now the floor is covered in sticky Black Albert which means one down on the overall score.

Bottled 05/05/13. A black beer with a wisp of grey head. I’ve had this nearly five years and it’s aged nicely but could probably go longer. Very boozy and very oily. Soy notes. Strong soy and alcohol in the aroma. Slick and very bitter in the mouth. Lots of tarmac. The finish goes on forever but the flavours are a bit too boozy and extreme to be a World beater.

Bottle. Pours very dark with a good amount of carbonation. Flavor is some bakers chocolate, mocha and nice spices. This is a really good beer, I cannot believe it is 13% abv.

Bottle shared by John on Sunday morning after TAP-NY back in his hotel room with Matt, Justin, Amerci, and a pantsless Ed. Pours a deep black with a thin to medium sized tan head. Big chewy roast and lots of chocolate and cocoa. Plum, tastes of chewy fudgy brownies. Super smooth, bitter cocoa. Spicy cocoa lingers on the gums.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a small tan head and a thick sweet aroma with notes of syrup, overripe fruits, espresso, roasted malts and toffee. The taste is sweet without being oversweet and the alcohol is very well hidden, considering the high amount it contains. There’s hints of licorice, ripe cherries, moccha, dark malts, cacao, candy sugar and some hops hidden somewhere in the end. A very nice beer, I really like it!
