On draft at Trappist Provisions. It pours a very dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is lightly jammy with cocoa and nice subtle notes of port and wood. The flavor is pretty much the same. Light blackberry jam balanced nicely with roasted malt. Not as complex as some others (like the regular black albert) but well executed and not over-fruited.

Tap. Pours opaque black, small brown head, good lacing. Aroma is roasty, coffee, cocoa, a bit fruity and vinous. Flavor is the same, some sweetness and fruitiness counter balanced by medium roasty bitterness. Not a lot of barrel going on here. Medium body, almost a bit watery. Somewhat hot due ABv. Nice beer.

Poured pitch black and oily, almost no head. nose of blackberries and sweetness was clear. taste was pretty earthy and muddy like fresh picked blackberries. great chocolate taste and earthy taste. sweetness of the port meshes very well. I had this a few times last night.

Draft @ Ebenezer’s. Pitch black tar color with thin soapy tan head. Nose is great, thick berries notes, port wine with the roasted malts in the background. The flavor is fantastic! The chocolate roasty flavor is up front followed by the black berry, traces of coffee and ending with some dark fruits. The 13 % is masked so well it’s scary. The body is thick but still remains highly drinkable in the "chug" capacity. You can for sure sip it but I had to be careful to to gulp it. This stout is beautiful.

Bottle at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin to medium sized dense tan head that vanishes but reappears with some gentle agitation. Big roast and cocoa on the nose leading into a bit of berries that linger. Medium-bodied, a bit of smoky roast, cocoa, chewy fudge with a bit of berries. More sweet chocolate with a nice bitter bite, light berries hidden throughout. Rather nice, the berries are always present but never prominent, subtly hiding in the background. Tasty.
