Poured pitch black and oily, almost no head. nose of blackberries and sweetness was clear. taste was pretty earthy and muddy like fresh picked blackberries. great chocolate taste and earthy taste. sweetness of the port meshes very well. I had this a few times last night.

Draft @ Ebenezer’s. Pitch black tar color with thin soapy tan head. Nose is great, thick berries notes, port wine with the roasted malts in the background. The flavor is fantastic! The chocolate roasty flavor is up front followed by the black berry, traces of coffee and ending with some dark fruits. The 13 % is masked so well it’s scary. The body is thick but still remains highly drinkable in the "chug" capacity. You can for sure sip it but I had to be careful to to gulp it. This stout is beautiful.

Bottle at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin to medium sized dense tan head that vanishes but reappears with some gentle agitation. Big roast and cocoa on the nose leading into a bit of berries that linger. Medium-bodied, a bit of smoky roast, cocoa, chewy fudge with a bit of berries. More sweet chocolate with a nice bitter bite, light berries hidden throughout. Rather nice, the berries are always present but never prominent, subtly hiding in the background. Tasty.

Big thanks to Klaas for sharing this beast of a 75cl bottle. It pours with a dark void of a body that supports briefly a mocha colored head. The aroma sends up dark roasted malts, burnt malts, some chocolate, spicy black licorice and slivers of sweet dark fruity esters that may contain some blackberry notes too. Cool. The taste is similar where highly roasted malts abound and are smoothed flat by some malts and molasses and smooth faint sweet dark fruity ester notes. This is really roasty with added notes of dark chocolate and a lighter chocolate candy bar mixed with a bit of toffee. In the background I do get a slightly tart berry fruitiness that helps round out the experience. Terrific sipper. Thanks again for the share.

Bottle generously shared by Darkguardian. Joan Jett black pour with a chocolate head. Dark roasted malt aromas. Dark roasted malts, delicious caramel, and berry notes. Vanilla and woody undercurrents. Fantastic mouthfeel. Complex with an above average body.

Bottle - pour dark black w/brown head. Smells of chocolate and blackberries, nicely balanced. A nice stout with chocolate and blackberries, a little sweetness but very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Black with a creamy light brown head. Beautiful rich floralchocolate bread, black berry, and alcohol aroma. Thick silky velvety palate. Tastes of chocolate, raisin, cherry, black berry, port, and oak with a rich dark chocolate finish. Outstanding.
