22oz bottle from Blackwells, jet black head with brown poured into glass at home. Oil, nuts, cocoa, and malty on the nose. Palate is a thick, rich, creamy. Milky, chocolate, cocoa taste with slight berry taste. A complex and delicous beer!

Draft at brouwers for bigwood. $9/6oz. Thick black pour with mocha head. Lovely lacing. This might get a 5, except it looks so dainty in this tiny glass. Definite berries in the aroma, but taste is full of ash and heavy bitter roast. As it warms thereís more sweet fruit on the front end, as well as alcohol, but roast bitter finish dominates. Palate: full body, average carbonation, thick chalky texture. Overall: shrug.

@ Basunen 14-11-29: mycket silkeslen och mjuk smak av choklad, kaffe och björnbär. En fin balans och en lång eftersmak. Mycket gott. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Capped 750 from Berkeley Bowl West. Pop the cap, smell the berry. Pours black with a small dark tan head. Aromas of berries, chocolate and port. Love port. Bottle oozes a bit of foam after the pour. Full bodied. Lots of berry. Noticeable heat, but not objectionable. Think Iím getting some wood, pretty sure Iím getting port. No question that berry is ever present. Itís not dry, but thereís enough bitterness to work that out. Itís strongly flavored and delicious.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom Cís place. 2012 bottle. Black with a big brown head. Slightly sourish aroma with a bit of roast, kinda vinous, with berries and some chocolate. Sweet flavor with a light sourish note, chocolate, berry notes, some coffee, a vinous touch and an alcoholic touch. Full-bodied and rounded. Great.
