Bottle cheers to Matteo I think. A seriously complex brew. Superb looking pour with a very creamy, thick brown head leaving tremendous lacing. Nose is all about the balance between roast, berries and chocolate. Comes through even better prepared in the taste. Heavy blackberries with thick, bittering chocolate - very dry, light liquorice/aniseed notes and a touch of sweet Belgian yeast balancing it perfectly. Really good. Like fucking superb

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 draft at borefts. nice to try it here so I can leave my bottles closed. poured almost pitch black with a small creamy brown-ish head. don’t get that much black berry’s / cherries as the name says. bitter chocolate, caramel, some fruit notes (compared with the regular). some port notes aswell. sure it will get a lot better after some age re-rate after bab ’14. the black berries are really comming trough now. with a more complex tart mouthfeel. really complex

Bottle. Pours black with a two finger creamy tight mocha head. Aroma is this is blackberry, sweet roasted malt and faint coffee. Taste is roasted malt, blackberries, sugar and booze. Full bodied, balanced with good carbonation and clean finish. A very interesting beer.

Borefts 2013 - Quite a herbal, fragrant aroma. It’s thick and sweet. Flavour has some cocoa, whiskey and a lasting taste of jam.
