Draft at Monks. Thick opaque pour that started with a frothy brown foam. Rich dark fruit. Chocolate nibs. Cola. Tobacco. Molasses. Unfiltered aged blackberries. Full body. Bittersweet. Not as good as the standard Black Albert (which is one of the best beers of all time) but a pleasant variation.

PhillyCraft (3570) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 13, 2014
On tap, pours pitch black with light to medium brown head that didnít stick around long, light lacing. Aromas of rich blackberry guts, barrel roast, dark chocolate, plums, and more sweet berries. Flavor is a nice blackberry, chocolate, and earthy tobacco. Medium bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel. Really complex and rich. Excellent.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks James! Dark black pour with big foamy caramel colored head, aroma brought notes of blackberry, berry, hints of dark fruit, chocolate, roast, nice port, wine notes pretty nice smelling. Taste is a mix of nice dark fruit, dark chocolate, roast, nice berry, dark red berries into some oak, red wine, slight anise in there finishing sweet, slightly roasty. Nice.

pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 11, 2014
On tap at avenue ale house. Not sure if port or bourbon...thinner cola black hue and auburn edges with a thin ring if beige head...charred woody barrel nose, cocoa and light fruit. Not assertive blackberry... Flavors are more of the same. Softer fruit char bitter ash and chocolate. Semisweet but lightly bitter. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation.

Bottle shared by Armin @ Arminís - dark black pour with a thick tan head. Nose is malty a touch boozy and a hint of berry. Taste is really nice, huge roasted malt and coffee bitterness. Hint of berry. Fairly boozy finish, but dry and bitter.
