COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation II is yet another blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This time a level more complex than BD I. 50% of Black Albert was used that matured for a while on whole coffee beans out of a craft Columbian coffee plantation. 25% of H&V was used that aged for 6 months on JD barrels at Struise. Another 25% of Cuvée Delphine was used.

Beware: labels are the same, taste however isn’t. Some bottles are recognizable because of he handwritten 2 on them.

Bottle at home. It pours jet black, with a gigantic dark beige head. The nose is treacle, lots of chocolate, liquorice, salted caramel, roasted malt and coffee. The taste is chocolate, toffee, caramel, vanilla, liquorice, coffee and lots of cocoa powder, with alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Intense and delicious.

A beautiful black beer with a dense brown head. The aroma is dominated by dried fruits and coffee, and the flavour is primarily malty sweet with a hint of dry bitterness. Fullbodied and creamy texture.

This here is quite possibly my favourite beer of all time. One of my signature beers, I first tasted this as a gift from a work colleague for giving him the job of a lifetime at The BottleShop Canterbury. This beer blew. my. mind. A gorgeous, thick, chewy stout featuring luxurious coffee notes on the nose and a deliciously rich dark bitter coffee taste. Pours, nay, GLIDES out of the bottle with velvety smooth and rich treacle appearance to finish with a perfect, well formed gingery head of smooth tight bubbles. Best served cold for luxury heart warming pleasure. In my opinion, if you’ve had a great dinner, skip dessert and grab one of these bad boys out of the fridge to get your dessert and after dinner coffee fix all in one! Perfection!

Black pour. Big tan head that slowly falls and leaves a little lacing behind. Big dry coffee aroma. Some sweet molasses, malt and raisins. Taste is similar. Nice sweet, but dry finish. Very good. Slightly too sweet, though.

Beer is brown / black with a tan head, medium bubbles, some lacing, mild carbonation. Beer smells like roast, coffee, sweet. It smells great. Beer is medium in body, mildly carbonated, mildly sweet, nice bitterness on the back. Good coffee, mild sugary sweetness throughout. An enjoyable beer, I’d have it again. Serving type: bottle

Sample. Pours jet black with a café crema-like head. Distinct coffee aroma. Sweet, burnt coffee flavour. Keeps hanging around in your mouth for a while. Why, oh, why didn’t I buy some of this?

330 ml bottle. Pitch black. Medium-sized beige fine-laced head. Ashy coffee aroma. Coffee beans. Roasted malts. Soft round malts. Quite balanced as the body is surprisingly light and the roasted notes are well adjusted leaving a very drinkable beer. Just enough hops as it hides well into the background. Cigarette ash finish. Very tasty.

Bottle @ home. Fuck, this was supposed to be my 3000th rating, but alas, I wasn’t paying attention and accidentally rated a German Barley Wine (whatever the fuck that is) for no. 3000. As a result, now I have to cheat the system, delete my German BW rating, and put this one in. Cool story, bro.

Deep brown appearance with a huge, fizzy, dark brown head that just doesn’t seem to go away. Super roasty, very rich dark cocoa, moderate coffee, somewhat woody aroma with that burnt rubber smell that I believe comes from the Black Albert portion. Wow, this baby has a huge flavor. Ultra roasty, dark black coffee, dark chocolate, toasty woody, mild vanilla, burnt taste with the coffee beans and chocolate lingering afterwards.
