COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation II is yet another blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This time a level more complex than BD I. 50% of Black Albert was used that matured for a while on whole coffee beans out of a craft Columbian coffee plantation. 25% of H&V was used that aged for 6 months on JD barrels at Struise. Another 25% of Cuvée Delphine was used.

Beware: labels are the same, taste however isn’t. Some bottles are recognizable because of he handwritten 2 on them.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has strong notes of coffee combined with notes of roasted malt, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of coffee, roasted malt, and vanilla, combined with medium notes of alcohol, burnt wood, and whiskey, leading to a dry, roasted, and alcoholic finish. I like - it’s crazy, but wow.

ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Opaque black beer. Rich beer. Minerally malt. The coffee is light but more weighty than Black Damnation. Decent beer but not as good as BD 1.

Bottle from Havnens, Vejle
The color is absolutely black; it has a brown creamy head, solid. The aroma is mild and not extremely complex, with some roasted malts and an interesting pepper edge; some yeast too. Very good body strength, with a round and smooth mouthfeel; strong flavor of heavily roasted malts, that covers but at the same time is complemented by a good level of residual sugars; there is though a too strong liquorice component; traces of pepper also in the flavor; the alcohol is nice and warming; correct bitterness level, without roastiness excess, in a long final that also provides a very good roasted malt backbone; but it’s also a bit dusty.
Very good, and quite balanced.
