COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation II is yet another blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This time a level more complex than BD I. 50% of Black Albert was used that matured for a while on whole coffee beans out of a craft Columbian coffee plantation. 25% of H&V was used that aged for 6 months on JD barrels at Struise. Another 25% of Cuvée Delphine was used.

Beware: labels are the same, taste however isn’t. Some bottles are recognizable because of he handwritten 2 on them.

Bottle @ Molenhof, next to the Struise brewery. Pours clean perfect black, with a bubbly beige/brown head. Small head. Incredible mocha & coffee aroma, burnt / roasted aroma, but subtle. Palate is slicky, not sticky. Taste balanced roast/bitter, some residual sweetness. Overall top class brew.

11.2oz bottle, thanks to iphonephan. Thanks! Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was notes of bitter dark chocolate. Some notes of chocolate, bitter malts. Smooth chocolate. Pretty tasty.

Wonderful stuff. Toasty smoke, chocolate and lots of body. Coffee is a presence but well integrated. Black pour with great mocha head and lacing. Thick creamy consistency. Awesome. Thanks to iPhonephan for this gem.

750ml bottle shared in a snifter. Pours a black oily liquid with a thin brown head. Aroma is fairly un-complex (particularly given the processes required to produce it). Taste much the same burnt malt, bitterness little hint of barrel aging and certainly no mocha. This could well have been an infected bottle (2012). White mould occupying the neck of the bottle and floating in the beer. Sadly, this is an all too common occurrence with the Black Damnation beers. Fortunately, previous examples (Coffee Club and Nuptiale A2) have proved to taste excellent so whether the less than spectacular taste is down to the (possible) infection remains to be seen. I have a further bottle with no mould that I will update this review with when I have tried that one. Disappointed. Certainly not worth the price.

Aroma of roasted malt, strong coffee, mocha, dark chocolate, wild yeast. Flavour is moderately sweet and a little tart, with a coffee bitter finish. Deceptively drinkable for a 13%. Thick and full body. Delicious Imperial Coffee Stout.

Sort med fingerhøyt lys brunt skum. Sure kirsebær, nøtter og kaffelukt. Smaker mørk sjokolade, alkohol, brent kaffe og lett søtlige bær. Fyldig, litt sticky, medium lang bitter ettersmak. Kosedrikk

Black with almost red head. Aroma is red berry, wild yeast, port, chocolate and some coffee. Rich and creamy palate. Aftertaste is fruity, oak, brett, floral, belgian spicy yeast and chocolate finish. Overall: excellent. Really nice!
