The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melia’s (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ila’s Distillers Version 1995".

Pours black, bit of brown foam, not much of it. Aroma has some stronger liquor, barrel dominating, feels a bit boozy, some peat and dark chocolate. Taste is also somewhat boozier and maybe more like usual BA. Peaty, some leather, sweetish, rather powerful actually and getting better when it warms. Whisky barrel comes through. Excellent stuff again.

Pours an opaqu; very dark brown with a reddish khaki head. Cherry soda and dark roasted malt on the nose. Chewy and thick. Sweetness all the way through up to the finish. Cherry, chocolate liqueur, dark roasted malt, sour wood, and papery flavors.

great label to start r awesome appearance: jet black with a healthy, tan head that has excellent retention and lacing. Aroma here is very subtle whiskey, some barrel notes. Mostly rich coffee, bakers chocolate, licorice. Taste is dry, cedar, wood resin, spicy whiskey on top of a rich dark chocolate, roasted malt body. Awesome oily palate

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks Jon! Pours a deep black with a small tan head. Strong roasted malt nose with some peat and dark fruit. More of the same on the palate with a light boozy sweetness. ABV is hidden fairly well, but the whisky flavors do show. The peat really stands out as it warms.

Poured into a teku showing pitch black and sparse latte foam. The nose shows a lovely notes of roasted malt and a few notes of peat. The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Strong residual sweetness but not unwelcome. Moderate alcohol spice throughout. Flavors of moderately intense whisky notes,

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2015 33cl bottle (2009 vintage) @ Kulminator, served in tulip. Pours black with brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate hints of red grape and wood. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits and whisky. Bitter notes and warm sensation on the palate. Well hidden ABV. Full body, good carbonation. Great! but definitely not among the best of the series.

Bottle. Slow gusher. Black with a medium sized diminishing beige head. Looks thick and oily. Odd nose; light sour, molasses, light wood. The oddness goes through to the flavour. Stange mix of burnt tire, asphalt, oak, ink, molasses, juniper, roasted malt, nuts, earth, red grapes, alcohol, coffee. Medium body, some sweetness, ok bitter, light sour. The alcohol is sharp and it is slightly thin and sticky. Not sure of the intention here, but I don’t enjoy the result much.
