The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melia’s (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ila’s Distillers Version 1995".

Bottle shared. Oily black pour with creamy brown foam. Aroma is rich tons of roasted grain, licorice, dark chocolate and molasses. Taste is sweet, burnt grain bitterness, massive anise, roasted grain, pure dark chocolate. Palate is full bodied, chewy with light carbonation. Huge beer, but really enjoyable.

Bottle (330 ml). From verbalessence, thanks! Pitch black with a small bubbly beige foam and little legs. Aroma is of coffee, whiskey, roasted malt, dark chocolate, alcohol and light dark fruits. Taste is also of whiskey along coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, wood, boozy notes and hints of dark fruits. Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Warming finish. Quite complex and tasty. Not as decadent as other from the series. A little dryer too. Still a really good RIS.

On tap at Falling Rock Tap House. Big, Big Beer. Nose of peat, smoke, bacon, and charcoal. Rich, malty backbone. Hints of coffee and grit. Finishes dry and smoky. Would go well with a ribeye.

@zebf 2014 - Aroma is dry, woody, slightly vinous. Flavour is fruity, vinous and has lots of bitter roasted malts. Strange bitter-tart mix.

Zwarte kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt zoet, koffie, chocolade, vanille en gebrand. Smaakt vanille, koffie en iets gebrand. Iets bittere afdronk.

Bottle 750 ml at home, into a snifter. ABV 13% Pitch black colour on the body, one finger of dark brown head sitting on top, with good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass and a small foam island on the surface. Aroma has lots of roasted malts and chocolate, the whiskey notes coming slowly from the back and remaining subtle, at least until the next swirl of the glass. Typical aroma of Black Albert too, with a touch of sourness. Taste has also a touch of sourness before the roasted malts kick in, iodium and whiskey, great taste, light alcohol on it Medium thick body, low carbonation. Sticky palate with a light burning. Overall a great beer, very well balanced.

On bottle from Beerplanet.be. Black color, ok offwhite foam- high viscosity .Roasted aromas, coffee, licorice, malt : high intensity- also nice barrel influence. Full body & high complexity. Light sweetness at first, goof balancing bitterness . Very enjoyable
