COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melia’s (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ila’s Distillers Version 1995".

Bottle. Pitch black, quite a dark brown head. Aroma: dark fruit, brown sugar, yeast, light butter. Taste: licorice, cocoa, coffee, brown sugar, light peaty, creamy chocolate. Full bodied. Would have like to get a more pronounced Caol Ila influence in this beer.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pitch black body with a dense brown film. Vanilla, farmhouse, redwine among the flavors on the nose. Alco warm and malty then some islay notes appears. Pungent and full bodied. Hint of ash in the finish. Most enjoyable.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. Strong and lovely vinous and complex aroma, notes of red wine, chocolate, vanilla, oak and mild coffee. Warming mouth- and throatfeel. Sweet and rich flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma. Another masterpiece from Struise.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2014 75cl bottle shared in a Struise glass. Pours pitch black with a medium beige head and (almost) zero carbonation. Aroma is wonderfully toasty malt with sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth but not quite as heavy as some of the other variants (or indeed Black Albert) which hides the ABV (13%) better than any I have tried. Unbelievably smooth which I assume is due to the barrel aging (in this case Scotch rather than Bourbon). Not as extreme as the other Damnation editions I have sampled and as such would be easier to drink which considering its ABV is pretty impressive.

Beautiful pitch black pour with perfect 3 finger tan head. Aromas of peated whiskey, vegemite, oak, caramel and vanilla. Amazing taste. Sweet whiskey, oak, dark chocolate, vegemite, charred meat and a hint of vanilla. Very slick and smooth, full bodied. Absolutely incredible beer and a great variation on the base Black Albert beer.

Bottle 75cl, a dark beer with low brown head. Nose is on leather, peated and dark coffee notes. Aroma is on dark chocolate, licorice, nice peated notes and even smoked ones, body is smooth and sweet, good carbonation for this alcohol level. Finish is on peated and licorice, nice whisky notes, subtle oak touch, long sweet peated notes with more than 20 minutes duration. As usual from this brewery, the beer is technically perfect, creamy, complex and full of flavours, but mainly for peated whisky fans though.

The second variation on the Black Damnation theme, this time matured on Caol Ila whisky barrels. Dense and sticky, deep beige foam, colour black. Powerful, complex aroma of caramel, cacao, coffee, tobacco, smoked meat, brambleberries, peat, whisky, oak,... Concentrated, complex taste, dark fruits, thick and oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation, strong roasted bitterness, late spicy hop bitterness, and above all an unmistakable woody, smoky and peaty whisky flavour, that lasts long into the finish. Again a great and complex product.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers. Aroma is of whiskey, liquorice, black malts, dark chocolate, peat and dark fruit. Pours as a savagely black vessel with a short lived small tan head. Tastes of sweet whiskey, dark berries, liquorice, rich dark malts and smokey peat with a dark chocolate finish. Thick mouthfeel, a smooth as silk velvety texture with a very soft carbonation. Overall, a genuinely incredible beer, a pretty expensive beer that's for sure but definitely worth it for the dedicated beer drinker out there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to antonfred all the way from Greece. Spewed pitch black with crazy tan head. Was a gusher because they didnt leave enough airspace in the neck when bottled. Aroma strong with woody oak smokey lil peat roast choc. Light carb thick bod. Taste of smokey peat light bitter. Pretty good. If youre a scotch guy youd love it.
