from tap @ Delirium. Pours in black, with an almost non-existing dark brown head. Sour, wild nose, roasted coffee, moccha, yeast (let me think of the Alvinne/Melchior yeast). Taste is chocolate, dried black fruit, hops, very dry. Palate: body is coffee thick, bitter in the second part, sticky, adhesive. Alcohol turns up in the finish. sour aftertaste. This is a complex, rich, warming beer in all aspects. Not really into stouts but must acknowledge this is a great brew, only the appearance was a bit of a set-back (tap, no head).

Weak coffee smell. Awesome dark look. Does not taste very deep on first impression, but when you keep it in your moth longer, the richness comes out. This richness is a nice sweetness of chocolate.

Bottled from Frape. Super dark black colour with thick dark copper head. Roasted stingy nose. Aroma is roasted soft malts with notes of whiskey. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, dark fruits and bitter chocolate. I think the whiskey was way too pitty for this and it disturbs the perfect balance of this brew. Softer whiskey like a Balvanie would make it a 5.

Bottle from Carlisle celebrations. Pours a pitch black with incredible looking dark brown head that lasts and lasts. Huge aroma full of espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa, raisins, other stone fruits and some whiskey from the barrel. Taste is insane. Massive whack of chocolate and bitter espresso, leading to a sweet finish with a hint of the whiskey. Full mouthful carries it all the way through. Not the best imperial stout I've ever had, but certainly one of the best!
