The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbanís mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Meliaís (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ilaís Distillers Version 1995".

Silky black. Nose presents a deep fragrance of chocolate cake and mocha, with a touch of peat. Drinks like a more mature Black Albert, with just light traces of peat and barrel. Insane richness. Decadent silky dark malt goodness, super chocolaty, roast, sweet dark fruit. Finish lasts for minutes, initially dominated by fudge and then black licorice. Will only get better with age.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2015 33cl bottle (2009 vintage) @ Kulminator, served in tulip. Pours black with brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate hints of red grape and wood. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits and whisky. Bitter notes and warm sensation on the palate. Well hidden ABV. Full body, good carbonation. Great! but definitely not among the best of the series.

Bottle. Slow gusher. Black with a medium sized diminishing beige head. Looks thick and oily. Odd nose; light sour, molasses, light wood. The oddness goes through to the flavour. Stange mix of burnt tire, asphalt, oak, ink, molasses, juniper, roasted malt, nuts, earth, red grapes, alcohol, coffee. Medium body, some sweetness, ok bitter, light sour. The alcohol is sharp and it is slightly thin and sticky. Not sure of the intention here, but I donít enjoy the result much.

Bottle - Pours dark black. Nose is scotch, peated, chocolate, oak. Taste is very chocolatey, fudgy, oaky, peaty. Very balance for a such a big beer.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Pitch black with a small khaki head. Peaty scotch, but itís not that intense. Molasses and dark chocolate. Boozy with a touch of soy sauce. Scotch dominates the flavor. Peaty whiskey. Then intense bitter and heavy roasted malt. Bitter chocolate. Heavy body and boozy. First taste is intense, but itís outrageously good.

750ml bottle of 2012. Pours a dark brown color with a lot of head. Total gusher which is surprising for the 13% ABV. A little harsh at first, but once it had some time to breathe it came out well balanced and smooth. Prominent whiskey flavor that blends well with the skunky hops.

Bottle share at Paulís 30th. Thanks! Black, small foamy brown head. Aroma is coffee, very light whisky. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is treacle, twigs, mellow whisky melding with the roasted malts. Not getting much of the Caol Ila smoke. Enjoyed it.

Uitgeschonken in De Struise Brouwers bierglas.

Bottle shared during Paulís 30th. Pours oily black with a creamy tan head. The aroma has some lightly aged dark malts, cocoa, soft roast. Medium to heavy sweet flavorbwith meaty dark fruits, burnt wood, ash, baking cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with more rich chocolate, earthy bitterness, chewy cocoa, raisins. Great stuff.
