COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melia’s (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ila’s Distillers Version 1995".

Botella. Pitch black colour, light brown head. Lovely aroma of deep roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, some smoke. Great filling mouthfeel. The flavour is just sooo great: lots of heavy roasted malt and chocolate with coffee, some smoke, dark fruit, bit whisky. Pleasant bitterness. Sweet roasted malty chocolate long lasting finish. Yum indeeed!

Bottle @ UDRM, Oirschot. Ash, whisky notes, dark chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Ash, dark chocolate and smoke in the almost vinous flavor. Alcoholic but still well balanced. Ashy aftertaste with dried fruit. Very good!

Draught. Pitch black coloured. Dense brown head. Sweetness, roast, coffee, chocolate and spice in the aroma. Barrelageing notable. Flavour of roast, liqourice, sweetness, coffee, dense alcohol. Some caramel and ripe fruits. Medium to full bodied. Roasty and sweet bitterness in the end.

Bottle poured a translucent reddish brown nearly black with a lasting creamy brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, peat smoke, bakers cocoa and light oak. Palate was full bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa, peat smoke and light oak with a smooth lingering roasty peaty finish.

Tap. Pours opaque with a small, fizzy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, coffee, roasted, dark fruit), light hops (floral), and average esters (dried fruit) with notes of wood, prune, and leather. Flavor is heavy malt (chocolate, coffee, roasted, dark fruit), light hops (floral), and average esters (dried fruit) with notes of wood, alcohol, smoke, licorice, prune, and leather. Full body, high warmth, medium carbonation and creaminess with a sweet finish.

Rich roasty aroma, gentle bacon component. Bacon really takes over in the taste, this is just full of smoky bacon. Smooth sweet palate, decent carbonation lightens the heaviness of the roast. Huge roast, but no astringency. Not quite up to the stunning Black Albert level, but a magical mellow super-rich stout. Not saying 13% at all.

Odd aroma, good dark roast, but some sour and bitter bite. Taste is apple seed bitterness. Metallic, a mess. A ruined Black Albert - don’t do that please.

Bottle… Pours coal black with a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The bouquet is mainly charred oak overlapping a more subtle nuance of burnt, smoky peat moss. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The burnt, moderately bitter, mildly acidic flavor is also a touch acrid with notations of cola, chocolate and comfortable sweetness. Lightly acidic, cola-like finish. Kudos to darkguardian for sharing this one!

From the Bottle at Chris O’s pre GBBF tasting, Kensal Rise 31/07/2010 Hop and roast aromas. Beige head. Black very strong in alcohol and hoppy with a dry and bitter coffee roast finish.

Noize...thanks my friend! Black pour, brown head. Aroma is quite roasty, ashy, molasses, peat. Flavor is boozy, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, ash, tobacco and a nice bitterness. Damn fine brew...awesome stuff.
