The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation III was made with Black Albert that aged for 3 months on Paul Melia’s (Mes) favorite Whisky, the "Caol Ila’s Distillers Version 1995".

Maybe one the best beer in the world , i am lucky enough to live nearby the brewery de Struise and I met it’s Master Brewer " Carlo " ... the complexity of BD III is incredible , the balance between alcohol and tastes of coffee and whisky is just fabulous ! a must have for stout lovers !

330 ml bottle.(2009) Pours black with medium head of big bubbles. Big aromas of vanilla, smoke, and heavily roasted malts. Oily. Rich smoky flavors. Meaty, with figs, chalk, and big malts. Yeah...

Pours dark brown with a finger’s width brown head. Smells of pepper, earthy, roasted malt, oaky. Tastes of dark chocolate, touches of whisky, cigar ash, leathery, textured. Excellent take on Black Albert.

I really loved this beer from the first taste. It’s a nice black beer with a thick foam. It’s almost think as fuel. The taste is somewhere between coffee and chocolate. Very interesting taste.

On tap ar Pré ZBF. intens black in colour with dens brown foam on top. Aroma is fantastic, it is robust and refined with masive hints of coffee, chocolate, wood, vanilla and ila whisky. Peat, caramel, rich malts, smoke, honey, espresso, burned sugars and so many more aromas the taste is full and also elegant, there are plenty of rich hints reminding me of espresso coffee with candi sugar, dark-bitter chocolate, some tar, wood, smoke and for sure the extra complex touch of the barrels.

This is great, rich, flavourful, beautiful! Dark and thick, but not sticky. Decadent aroma, chocolate and coffee but not bitter (bitter wouldn’t have been a bad thing!). Goes down easy, creamy, not chewy but full. Some mellow and flavourful....just really awesome.

On draft at Kulminator. Another fantastic imperial stout from the series and a rare treat finding it on tap.

Pour was black black, with a dark brown foamy head and nice lacing. Aroma was rich and black. Just smelled black. The flavor was immensely complex with burnt wood, coffee, dark chocolate, ash and a boozy quality that was so subtle and interwoven that I wouldn’t have gotten it was whisky. Dark fruity notes gives it a sweetness, but an immense burned (but in a good way) roasted malts, the darkest and strongest coffee and a little funky milky sour. This just continually reminded me of a smoldering campfire on a wet morning. Just a wow’ing beer. By far the best of the first 3 in the series.
