COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

Bottle - Tons of dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. Jet black with a rich brown head. Bitter chocolate, coffee and some vanilla. Body is pretty thing with a bit of astringent finish. I think that is the rum. Interesting, but with so many good barrel coffee beers not good enough.

12 ounce bottle
This was the best of the three Black Damnation beers that I tried. Having sampled the first four I would love to get my hands on a few others. This experiment has worked well so far - there is no reason that the rest will not be as good.

Aroma / Appearance - Coffee colored liquid seeps into the glass with a dense mocha head that is creamy and rich. Slick icy legs crawl down the sides. Black coffee with a generous amount of creamer, malty licorice, and smoke support a fine texture. The rum aspects are not strong at all.

Flavor / Palate - Coffee and smoke rinse away the last beer after a few sips. The transition sweeps in more malt, licorice, and chocolately profiles. A dry finish then leaves a mark on the back of the throat. For such a high gravity beer it is dangerously drinkable.

Smells of sour raisens. Big rich raisen plum skin mollases oak flavour with long bitter blasted cherry finish. If I wasn’t a session beer drinker I’d love it.

Hot and roasty on the nose. Raisins all over it some deep but not bitter chocolate in the mouth. It’s really a little too much.
