Bottle from Ølbutikken. Black with a big and lasting dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish. Oily. 130912

Bottle. Huge creamy head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich coffee, roast malt, chocolate, caramel and hops. Awesome beer.

(Bottle, Delirium Hoppy Loft, 21 July 2012) Black as hell, with brief frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with massive amounts of freshly ground coffee, some cacao, wort and a touch of dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, strong black coffee, dark bread, brown sugar, vanilla and some honey sweetness coming through in a fairly vinous finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Some alcohol shining through, but stays in the background. Full body, rounded mouthfeel. The nose indicates a massive coffee attack, but taste is a lot more complex and quite well balanced considering all the impressions. Absolutely lovely beer!

Bottle from Kihoskh, København, enjoyed at home. Entirely black. Low rusty brown head. Intense creamed coffee/milk chocolate nose. Taste is more creamed coffee with choco fudge and bitter-sweet dark bready and cakey malts. Notes of rum & raisin. Full body. Succulent and creamy in the mouth. Rounded and balanced. Nice all over.

Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, cold coffee, green pepper and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malt, cold coffee, sweet notes, light soy and chocolate.

Pours a pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is cold coffee, green pepper and roasted. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is sticky. Overall an average beer.

A-- Poured an oily looking reddish black color. Settled black, no light penetrating this at all. Nice looking head. A sort of dark reddish brown leather looking head. One finger in height and looks like a mousse with the thickness in the head. Sits at a nice layer of film. Great spotty lacing and leaves a dark reddish brown layer of film in the glass. S-- Strong, powerful coffee. Has held up well with some age. Marshmallow, peat, wood, chocolate, char and ash. Just very vibrant and a big nose. Just lovely. T-- Roasted coffee, dark chocolate, coco powder, carmel and some char and ash. Nice well rounded flavors. M-- Low carbonation and medium feel. Slick and oily in the mid and back with a overdrawn coffee and burnt tire finish. Slightly sweet as well. Well hidden ABV. O--- Excellent example of a RIS with coffee. Slightly dry, slightly sweet, coffee in the right spots. Well hidden ABV and just a fun beer to drink on a cold night. Will buy again if given the chance.

A black beer with a quite weak, but beautiful and lasting, dark brown head. Aroma is strongly roasted, lots of black coffee, also refreshning strawberries and berries. Taste is roasted, coffee, liquirice, some dry herbs. Nice sweetness that balancing the strong roastiness. Full bodied, smooth oily and slightly sticky to drink. Strong, roasted and balanced IS, damn tastefull.

Bottle. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is alcohol, malt, hop, coffee. Flavour is coffee, alcohol, molasse, dark chocolate, roasted malt. Full body. Very nice beer.

Bottle @ home.... It pours pitch black with a medium creamy tan head.... The aroma is coffee, licorice and hard roasted malt.....The flavor is roasted malts, roasted coffee, vanilla, chocolate and caramel..... very nice ! well made brew!..... love it! :)
