COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

Dark brown to black pour with a brown head. The aroma is very heavy on the coffee and chocolate notes. The flavor is similar. The coffee comes through very strongly but is complemented with some chocolate and roasted malt. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice beer.

Bottle at the Kulminator, Antwerp. Poured a deep mahogany with a long-lasting frothy light tan head. The aroma is big dry roast malt and coffee, The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth rich cold coffee liqourice dark chocolate red-berry fruit palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation. A truly epic beer.

Pours a black color similar to the devils heart. Smells a bit of coffee and caramel. Some sweet chocolate is also the aroma. Can’t taste the ridiculous amount of alcohol in the beer. I say that wins as a beer.

Watery black pour, thin beige lacing. Aroma is a gag-inducing blast of green pepper and a little rye. Taste is possibly even worse with heavy oxidation and a sharp vinous upswing at the end. Mild sweetness and quite tannic. Smooth, somewhat creamy, little carbonation, and full-bodied. Really unfortunate that the coffee had oxidized so terribly.

bottle 2009, dark brown colour with perfect beige head. Smell: roasted malts, coffee, chilli pepper. Taste: roasted malts, coffee, nice bitter stuff in the aftertaste. A little bit too overwhelming, over the top beer, but anyhow a very nice one.

Squid ink pour with a small latte head. Loads of dark roasted coffee, green pepper, raisin, and a bit of alcohol. Chewy and coating mouthfeel. Just not what I was looking for.

Black oily beer, dark brown foam. Soft carbonation. Very impressive! Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt. Very rich and complex. Very well balanced.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, coffee, honey, light vanilla, light rum and light oak. Palate was full bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, light coffee, light honey and light rum with a smooth lingering bitter chocolate finish.

Bottle. Pours black with thin tan head. Smell is roasted malt, burnt coffee, bitter baker’s chocolate, sweet sugar, raisins some faint leather and earthy notes. Taste is coffee, malt, chocolate, dark fruit and finishes with earthy flavors. Thick full-bodied beer, hides ABV very well. Great stout!
