3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a nice brown head. Aroma of earthy coffee, vanilla, dark roasted malts, darker fruits, cocoa powder and some sharp alcohol in the back. Taste is the same with some more roasted bitterness, wood, weak salty and with a pretty boozy feel.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2012 24.00 Bottle ordered from belgianshop.com. Pours a dark molasses but produces a head thats more on the carbonated side which takes all the head away quickly. The aromas go very deep. Its like perfume. "Hey spray some coffee club cologne on me man." I can see it now...Intense coffee bean, big roasted/burnt malts of chocolate, wood, tobacco(wow), honey, and vanilla. Flavors dont quite match that intense nose show but pack a phenomenal punch! Iíve never tasted a coffe stout like this one. The tobacco and coffee start up first with the roasted/burnt malts following. Theres a slight dark fruit in the middle or at least comes off as such. Some lesser notes of wood and chocolate with the vanilla almost hidden. Leaves a big stain of flavor that coates the palate, which makes it harder to enjoy all the great complexities. Needs to be sipped and left at room temperature in a basement. Medium sweet, medium bitter, very complex, light smokyness, strong aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden. Worth buying and at best a memory. This version makes its mark as a unique memorable induction of the series which deserves appreciation.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared bottle. A pitch black body with a medium sized beige head. Strong aroma of coffee, roasted malt and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet dark, roasted malt with espresso coffee and coffee bitterness and warming alcohol. Fine body and long aftertaste with sweet malt and espresso coffee. Nice in flavor, might be a bit too much espresso coffee to be balanced. Still a nice one.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Even better than the original black albert. Pours dark black with a fair brown head. Aroma is moderate roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and some red fruits. Taste is full and complex, leaves a bitter flavour in the end. Flat and creamy, highly recommended as a great "meditation beer".

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Color : dark sweet black beer with small carbonization and medium brown foam. Very appetizing beer!!! :) Smell : chocolate, coffee, malt, and sugar complexity, and species at the end. Taste : great complexity in mouth you really feel the sugar presence, coffee and chocolate (of course). Aftertaste : malt and chocolate with coffee presence (more precisely : cold sugar coffee). Really Amazing! I recommend it! Great experience! (Ideal for Autumn or Winter)

Bottle 33 cl. Pours dark brown, black in colour with a small tan head. Roasted malts and darker coffee, lots of it, in aroma. Flavour is wood, coffee and roasted malts. Something felt off in this too, just like in Black Damnation II.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an small to average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced fair lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee malt, caramel and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth dry texture and flat carbonation. Good complex roasted choclate and caramel flavor with a medium to heavy roasted sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex standout brew.
