Silky black. Pillowy light tan foam. Potent aromas of strawberry jam, grape, chocolate and espresso. Uncommon richness, length and texture. Begins very sweet, but dries out into the finish. Excellent flavor intensity. Milk chocolate, red ripe fruit, espresso. Finish is very long lasting. Minutes after swallowing, you still taste the coffee. My third bottle. Really like this beer and itís super young now, it should only get better. Struise beers are the best Belgians to age.

Hot and roasty on the nose. Raisins all over it some deep but not bitter chocolate in the mouth. Itís really a little too much.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle at 13 %. Nose is light organic coffee and light roast. Flavor is light roasted malt, mild coffee with some notes of soy sauce. Mouthfeel is oily with a medium body. Almost has a porter feel rather then a stout. However, I could just be a really spoiled beer geek. I didnít get any hit of rum or aged barrels or wood. Decent and no way bad bit not top tier.

What a beer. Aroma is fantastic with tons of rich coffee, nuts, toast, and chocolate. Taste is heavily coffee with dark fruits and a smooth roastiness that is perfect. Just great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 mL bottle tasted alongside the first four in the series, served in a snifter. Pours black with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are huge coffee notes, along roasted malts, molasses and a significant rum accent. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout, with a light bitterness up front that becomes moderate. There are notes of coffee and roasted malts from the nose, but also distinct notes of rum and cane. The finish is long and roasty with a slight alcoholic burn. On the palate, it is full in body with a smooth, syrupy texture and flat carbonation. Overall, this is an interesting brew, but the rum did not work for me. 2012-08-01

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black colored beer with a very small brown head. Hardly any carbonation which gives the beer a certain smoothness. Nose of burned malts, pure chocolate and notes of coffee and alcohol. Strong chocolate flavor. Alcohol warming and rum flavors.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black, quite a dark brown head.
Aroma: fruity, rum, berries, green chili.
Taste: dark fruit, tobacco, light spices, brown sugar, rum, dark berries, milk chocolate, a hint of licorice.
A good version with a very nice rum influence.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. A touch better than the mocha blend. As the name says, it is over the top bitter espresso tones all over. A touch of vanilla through this to add some sweetness behind the huge bitterness. Solid but as with the mocha it was a little grainy in the mouth feel. Decent enough
