COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbanís mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2014 750ml bottle @ Maunula beer tasting. Bottle from Saveur Biere.

1/3 of bottle poured out from bottle when opened the cap :/ Black stuff with small circle foam. Aroma of sweet red orange. Sweet full bodied beer. Fantastic mouth-feel. I love this!

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Sweet & roasted aroma with rich coffee, dark fruit, chocolate and vanilla. Flavor of roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted coffee, dark fruit, and light caramel. Creamy texture, full body, lively carbonation.

750 ml bottle, 2012 vintage, lot BDS0042012 with a best by date of 30/09/2018. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a couple inch tan head that stuck around a long time. The bottle was a slow gusher when I opened it, good thing I had the glass ready to pour in! Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, oak, coffee, caramel and some tobacco. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some molasses, tart dark fruit and a bit of vanilla. Mouthfeel/body is full, itís creamy with a good amount of carbonation. For a beer thatís 13% ABV, the alcohol is well hidden. I thought this was a pretty good stout, I liked it a lot!

Pours dark brown with a bit of brown foam. Aroma is sourish, not really full, refreshing. Sweetish, even fruity actually. Not getting coffee in the aroma but itís there in the taste. Some more roast bitterness and dry finish. I really like it, probably even more than some more powerful versions.

750ml bottle (BB 30 Sep 18) all to myself for my 500th rating. Should?ve been prepared for the massive gushing, having encountered this with other Struise offerings, and lost a fair portion of the beer. Giant mocha head having subsided, the beer left in the glass is inky black and oily looking. The aroma has some wild yeast characteristics, with a hint of sourness, complemented with dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, oak, jamaican rum, leather. Massive flavours of licorice, dark rum, coffee, vanilla, molasses, a little port wine and a gentle tartness and bitterness in the finish, which balances out the sweetness nicely. Full bodied and very oily. Decadent. Warming alcohol. Absolutely sensational, only detracted by the F1 podium champagne-like opening.

Thick and black with creamy tan head. Hard roasted malt aroma, strong coffee. Flavour has more roast, almost like burnt malt. Coffee, bitter chocolate, moist tobacco and raw licorice. Sweetness, vanilla and wood. Smooth and very sippable.

33cl bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen (bought Easter 2012). Pours used motor oil looking with not much head to speak of, just a tiny, beige ring. Oooh - even the crown cap smells heavenly. Did expect this one to be nice, but damn, this is really something! Complex, roasty aroma with some oaky notes, vanilla, spices, dark chocolate, coffee, ripe, dark fruits and dark dried fruits. Sweet, smooth and complex with a surprisingly high drinkability. Full bodied with carbonation on the soft side. Velvety, vinous and just so delicious! Damn!

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks Jon! Pitch black with a light mocha colored head. Prune and currants on the nose with roasted malt, cacao and light coffee. Taste is roasty with good balance and some fruity tartness that comes out as it warms. Hides the ABV very well. More espresso on the finish especially after it warms. Very nice.

Pours pitch black with sparse latte colored foam. The nose shows very slight coffee notes. The palate is light bodied and barely carbonated. The palate shows very light malts and coffee notes. Slight residual sweetness and roasted malt notes towards the end. The finish is mostly coffee.
