The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbanís mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2012 One of three best beers Iíve ever tasted, if not the best. Like petroleum poiring into the glass, it has everything (creamy, powerful, overwhelming, full). Complex in its aromas and tastes, but incomparable.. Unnecessary say nothing else: PERFECT.

Bought this 11.2 ounce bottle, in Amsterdam a few months back at The Cracked Kettle- the last beer buying stop of the trip, top shelf and a ladder later, all mine for 12.50 euro .. .

Pours a deep brown black with fantastic dense head on the pour, settles down nicely.. .

Aroma of coffee, tar, and gods coffee cup..

Amazing complexities in this one, coffee being the main player but chocolate, espresso, tar, more coffee, light rum, and more espresso...

iím in love, my beer of the year, and maybe even the best beer i have ever had..

This floaty thing is amazing. We should patent this.

one of the best beers i have ever had. period..

Black body, dark brown head. Strong aroma of espresso, vanilla, strawberry, dark chocolate. Full body, ideal carbonation. Amazing flavour with lots of coffee, vanilla, strawberry, wood, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, licorice, a hint of rum. Incredible.

Bottle at Kulminator (Antwerp, Belgium)
Very dark pour with a dark brown head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma of coffee, licorice, raisins, caramel, toast. Taste is sweet and, oddly, very spicy. Didnít have as much coffee in the taste as I was expecting, but there was a spiciness that was rather pervasive. Very good beer. My bottle was also a ídefectí: the label was printed upside-down, which seemed rather fitting given the design. I thought it was intentional until I went home and looked it up. One of the best beers that Iíve ever had. Wish I would have tried some others from the Black Damnation series while I had the chance.

Amazing stout. Pitch black with great taste evolution. Coffee is not to dominant. But the price you pay for a bottle is to high

This was pretty damn tasty and dangerously drinkable. Dark, dark brown...almost like dried soda residue or day old black coffee. Lots of great coffee aroma and some fruit present in the aroma. Palate was almost perfect, wasnít chewy but not watery at all. Barrel flavours in the background at all times, but they arenít overpowering. Full flavour but very well balanced, nothing is offensive, too heavy, or detracting. Well done, sir!

I can only rate this one comparing it to the II, now called mocha bomb. BD IV comes out less dry, less moka, more chocolatey and creamy. More balanced and easier to drink. It is a bit like this one is the female version of the mocha bomb ... so far I prefer slightly the bomb. But this one is easier to drink ...

Countbeer (4302) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 13, 2011
Bottle: Big vast brown head, disappears slow. Dark brown to black pour, black colored beer. Smell coffee, wood, earth, chocolate, hints of liquorice and burned malts. Earthy tones dominate the taste with a nice woody mix and soft mix of roasted malts, chocolate, hints of dark fruits, liquorice, sweet, bitter, perfect.†† Long dark chocolate kinda like aftertaste. Very silky mouthfeel, low carbo and a full body. Delicious beer!

Bottle at Klooster, Delft. Absolutely loved this beer, the best of the series so far for me. Caramel sweetness reminisent of De Molenís great Tsarina Esra
