COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

(draught) pours the darkest brown colour with a creamy brown head. aroma of grass and herbal hops, brown sugar, light toasted malts and coffee. flavour is again quite earthy and grassy, with strong notes of brown sugar, alcohol is very well-hidden. strong, full-bodied with smooth carbonation.

Had this at Pre ZBF March 5th 2010, cheers Ian. Some camp coffee on nose and in the mouth, suggestion of chicory then maybe? Some sour coffee, a streaky bitterness, actually quite sweet and sour, good stuff. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Massive coffee aroma with just a hint of vanilla and a little woody-ness. Flavor is light-medium sweet chocolate cover espresso beans with a light astringency on the finish.

Thanks Pade for buying this one for me. Opaque black color, big creamy brown head. Strong aroma of coffee and tobacco ash with alcohol notes. Fuller body than in BD III. Beer is very "dark": lots of roasted, coffeish flavors, tobacco ash, burnt malts. Finish has some sweetness, perhaps from rum? Otherwise not rum found here. More mellow than III but still quite alcoholic.

Bottled. The aroma is big and smoky, with beefy notes of tobacco and well aged dark rum. Big and bold but not sweet, at least in the nose. The flavor hits up front with a touch of unfermented malt sugars, with a molasses-like rum body, and a roasty, chalky finish.

Pours black with a tan head. Has a vanilla and toasted malt smell. Taste is similar with a bit of coffee in there. Little boozy but pretty nice

2010-08-10. Pitch black body with a creamy brown head. Alcoholic aroma is a bit boozy, obscuring the rich malty core. 7+ Flavour has a richly sweet dark malt core with alcoholic overtones that are less delicate, and a bit more abrasive than in the BD3, making it a bit less easy to drink. Smooth medium bodied palate feels just a touch thinner than the BD3, but that may just be in my head. 3+ Very good, but much less refined than the III. Would probably fare better when not in direct comparison. Uhm, so no actual coffee then? Bottle at Delerium Hoppy Loft, Brussels

Bottle at Delirium. Pours a totally black color with a huge off-white head. The aroma is milky and huge coffee notes. The flavor is similar; a massive coffee explosion, bitter chocolate and hops, mocha. A wonderful creamy palate. Big time coffee bomb.
