The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

Dark brown with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, coffee and barnyard. Flavour was packed with coffee, mocca and roasted malt. Coffee bomb.

Bottle shared by Shawn: Opaque with small frothy head and okay lace. The aroma is big coffee and tobacco esters, some rum, oak, flowers, chocolate, vanilla, cardamom, and mint. The taste starts with a heavy malt profile before a huge coffee overtone and moderate alcohol character comes about full force, Undertones of chocolate, vanilla, rum, berry, and pepper as well. The mouth feel is oily and aggressive, strangely almost too thin for the palate profile. This is a solid brew just not world-class, the coffee becomes even more pronounced as it warms.

molto buona... forse meglio della black mes... l’affinamento in botte di rum la rende fruttata e valorizza le note torrefatte..... eccellente!

Bottle… Pours midnight black with a mid-sized, light brown head. Fantastic retention. The nose offers charred wood and acrid espresso grounds with whispers of cayenne and chili peppers. Full-bodied and slick with medium carbonation. The flavor suggests mild acidity, heavily roasted black and chocolate malt sweetness and carbonaceous bitterness. Burnt, bitter, lightly tangy finish. Thanks go out to darkguardian for sharing this one with the Delray Beach gang!

Bottle shared by puzzl. Pitch black pour with a massive, thick brown head. The nose is loaded with tobacco and coffee. Rich and fairly vanillaish. There is also a lot of dried raisin, rum and intensely rich and roasty. There is lots of cocoa and a very long lingering bitterness. A little bit of heavy chewiness. Cold coffee and rich roastiness. Earthy and intense.

7/24/11. Small bottle courtesy joes. Not quite opaque black pour with a small brown head that fades but sticks. The aroma is... wtf?! Huge chile pepper aroma with hints of sweet liquor and chocolate. Sweet dark fruit flavors at first with plenty of sour, but it all transitions to huge roasty bitterness and just a touch of that chile pepper sensation. Totally wacky.

Thanks to StFun for sharing! Jet black pour with a tall tan head. Aromas of dusty coffee, vanilla, flavors of ash, espresso coffee, woody and bitter. Finish is a little hot and some lingering astringency effect the overall taste.

Kulminator - bottled. Black coloured beer with a huge brown head. Full malty coffee hinted aroma with light smokey, almost tabacco and spicy touches. Full light creamy palate. Finish is bitter, heavy yeasty with some sweet herby and honey touched hints ending slightly alcoholic. Very special, complex and heavy.

Bottle at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels. It pours jet black, with a thin dark tan head. The nose is big intense espresso coffee, chocolate, charcoal and roasted notes. The taste is full of espresso coffee, blackcurrant, blueberry, molasses, ash, roasted malt, coconut and dark chocolate. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. It’s good, but the intense coffee and sticky sweetness makes it challenging to drink in any great quantity.
