The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urbanís mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filthy rich in the nose and with a massive taste.

Black Damnation IV was made with Black Albert that aged for 6 months on very old rum barrels.

molto buona... forse meglio della black mes... líaffinamento in botte di rum la rende fruttata e valorizza le note torrefatte..... eccellente!

Bottle shared by puzzl. Pitch black pour with a massive, thick brown head. The nose is loaded with tobacco and coffee. Rich and fairly vanillaish. There is also a lot of dried raisin, rum and intensely rich and roasty. There is lots of cocoa and a very long lingering bitterness. A little bit of heavy chewiness. Cold coffee and rich roastiness. Earthy and intense.

Bottled (from Struise Beershop). Quite much pitch black colour with reddish brown fluffy longlasting head. Some slight lace. Aroma is ashes, strong black coffee, some chililike burning notes as well as some wood and alcohol. Mild tobacco as well. Flavour is roasted malts, ashes, some alcohol, mild stinging sweetness, some wood as well as mild notes of soap and burnt wet wood. Also some slight chililike burning notes in there. Good sipping beer, but a bit too sweet for my likes. Also Iím quite amazed to find the palate a bit thin, even though the beer is full with flavours and aromas.

33cl Bottle via trade with Glouglouburp, thanks Dany! Pitch black colour, creamy light brown head. Aroma of strong ground coffee or coffee residue, alcohol, strong brown rum. Flavour is pure coffee, chocolate, hard roasted malts, boozy coffee bitter finish with some sweet chocolate mousse. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, fullbodied. I just donít dig all the coffee, I hoped for more rum flavours.

Bottle 33 cl. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours cloudy and opaque - almost muddy - dark brown, close to black, with a light brown head. Distinct hard roasted coffee in the nose - almost chili-like. Very full body, prunes and other dark dried fruits, plenty of burned malts and coffee. Burned bitterness in the finish. 040610

4th March 2010. Pre ZBF. Opaque black beer. Friohy brown head. Smells hoppy but with some green vegetables as well. Smooth soft and semi dry palate. Fresh fruity/vegetal malt. Some coffee but not too much. Finishes soft and dry with a little coffee bitterness coming through. An unusual beer!

Bottle. Black colour with a tiny brown head. Lots of coffee in the aroma with some roasted malt. Burnd, espresso, roasted malt and a hint of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Too much coffee and it also should have had a bit more body.

Poured a black body, brownish thick head that went away slow. Raw ground coffee nose, hints of... frozen food? hard to explain, thawing ice maybe, a particular aroma. The taste is pretty much the same, the strong coffee notes, like ground Franck espresso (not that this descriptor will mean anything to a huge majority of people here), sliightly "stale" but not in a bad way. Some alcohol, bitter chocolate too. Lacks some complexity and didnít impress me as much as the original did. Ah well.

Black of colour with a brown head. An aroma of liqurice, dust, hops, bitter, dark fruits and alcohol. A flavour of coffee, dust, minerals, sweets, liqurice, dark fruits, alcohol and bietter finish.

From the tap poured a dark brown color with a good amount of head. Strong toasted malty flavor with a lingering finish.
