750 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet. Pitch black with no head at all! Aromas of chocolate, liquorice, alcohol, bourbon. Taste is sweet with chocolate, bourbon and vanilla on the front, followed by booziness, liquorice. Full body with light to now carbonation, which, compared to the high abv, makes it a really difficult sipper. Still, amazing!!

On tap. Pours black with thin brown head that quickly dissipates. Dark chocolate, ristretto, dark fruits, dark caramel. Really sweet reminding a tawny port. Thick oiley mouthfeel. To be served as digestive with, after a nice dinner. Really outstanding.

25.4 oz bottle. Black brown with tan suds. Nose is dark chocolate, caramel, coffee and dark fruit with hints of bourbon. Sticky medium to full body a bit chalky with surprisingly lively carb. Taste is dark chocolate, prune, some smoke, espresso and molasses. Tangy chunks. Super buzzing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
750cl Bottle, split two ways, with the Beast, interchanged with Cuvée St Gilloise as a relief and palate cleanser. 19th June 15. Pours deepest dark brown, thick as engine oil, literally. Nose is liquorice, booze, chocolate, some banana, caramel, molasses. Taste is massive, to start, liquorice, bourbon, chocolate, caramel, some booze evident, but not 26%. Palate is so rich and decadent, tongue coating, this is a imperial stout liquor, liquid chocolate, bourbon, desert. Second glass, gives less liquorice, more caramel, slightly more mellow, more banana, so rich and fatty. Excellent and quite a beer. One to fear as it lingers in the bottle, a great experience, but I now look forward to the rest of the Black Damnation series I have. A one off experience

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
New batch released in 75cl. Served at about 10°C, very boozy nose (more than i remembered from at schooltje, maybe served too cold there), Oak, chocolate, licorice, coffee, chocolate cake, roasted/toasted/nutty, i think i could go on for hours.... Very thick mouthfeel, a tad too bitter for me, but very nice long aftertaste. Yes it is 26%, and it is ridiculousely expensif, but yes i bought one, and it was quite an experience.. But a bit over the top for me. Time to drink a decent pilsner!

Tiny little nip bottle sent to me by Simon, thanks man! Finally decided to crack this for my Bday, I think this is vintage 2010. Appearance, sweet jesus, this is thick chocolate tar with dense mocha head that dissipates pretty quickly. Aroma is big hits of booze, oak, vanilla, marshmallow, coffee, my nostrils are stinging. Taste is thick chocolate, followed by rich dense coffee, vanilla, oak, fudge, holy shit.. this is like drinking syrup, finishes with some heat, and a wallop of bitter coffee roast. I really had no idea what to expect from a 26% beer, but this is really something special, its like drinking a glass of bourbon coffee infused fudge. This is dangerous stuff as It tastes nothing like the abv suggests and although hot its fairly drinkable.. wow.

Vintage bottle sample & tap sample at ’t Oude Schooltje , Oostvleteren - BE. Color: high viscosity deep black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: roasted malt domination with caramel and barrel notes. Taste: amazing oily sensation on mouth really high viscosity and exposition of sweet and caramel with roasted malt. Bourbon and vanilla notes. Alcohol presence. Really amazing! Aftertaste: high sweet caramel and vanilla notes really. Workless ! Candy and alcohol notes. The vintage beer was more sweet and high higher viscosity, the tap beer was more malty and with high alcohol taste. AMAZING !
