From nites - tap at Borefts 2011. Incredible - complex aromas of whiskey coming through through the alcohol scents and taste and mouthfeel of a beer. Incredible twist of beer into something totally different while keeping all attributes of beer. Nice!

Malty, good balance between biterness and alcohol. Nice aromas and good carbonatation, really good beer to enjoy.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 AndySnow (1199) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 9, 2012
Sample @ SBWF 12. Dark black colour with a small brown head. Strong tar, peat, chocolate, coffee aroma. Taste is whiskey like, strong, tarry, peaty. Feels that it is strong, but not as strong as it actually is.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tiong (2243) - Espoo, FINLAND - OCT 6, 2012
Draught @ SBWF’12
Pours pitch black with no head. Aroma of heavy roasty and alcoholy notes, herbs, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is roasty and slightly smooth with malty and smokey notes, licorice and hints of herbs. Finish is slick and slightly roasty with hints of alcohol and licorice. Tasty, complex and balanced despite the huge amount of alcohol that is hidden extremely well.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 VsXsV (1225) - Linköping, SWEDEN - OCT 6, 2012
Draught at Stockholm Beer and Whiskey Festival. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of licorice, booze, raw sugar, chocolate, biscuit and smoke. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of chocolate, raw sugar and booze. Full bodied with low carbonation. Just too much, but I prefer this one to double black.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yngwie (10761) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - OCT 1, 2012
On tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. A beauty to look at with its big, dark tan head over a jet black body. The aroma is surprisingly low on alcohol, with the dark malts doing most of the work. Peat, licorice, burnt and roasted malts and some medicine hints. The flavor has an Islay whisky kind of peat, with licorice, roasted malts, some tar and saltyness. Lots of sweetness. Sticky, full-bodied and with a pleasant level of carbonation. Although too much on the sweet side, and in my opinion also too peated, it’s a fine ultra-high ABV beer. 120511
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 sic1314 (959) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2012
At Borefts 2011. After the wonderful Double Black I had high hopes for this, bit even Struise have limitations. Poured dark and treacley, not much nose and the flavour was more like hugely alcoholic syrup. Not really drinkable at all.
