Black beer, nice brown head, fading quickly. Relatively mild aroma, coffee, slight chocolate, big malts profile, earth, dark fruits, slight hops. Quite alcoholic, but not overly so. Sweetish flavour, liquorice, malts, whisky, light hops. Dry bitter bit alcoholic ending. Overall hefty, but still nice flavours, and very drinkable.

Pitch black, opague colour with an almost orange coloured head. Smells whisky, alcohol and very roasty. Tastes chocolate, roasty and alcohol. Very full body, long warming sensation.

Draught @ Borefts 2011. Black, with a beige head. Plum, dark chocolates, ash, smoke and alcohol in the aroma. Heavy body, medium carbonated. Alcohol well hidden. A serious one.

On Tap Borefst@Bodegraven, very dark, lots of alcohol , sticky, thick, no sweets, overall very heavy but the taste is good.

Hand bottled. Huge thansk to yespr. Pours a totally pitch black colour, has no head. Sweet aroma, lots of roasted amlt, liqourice, alcohol and dark fruits. Good sticky mouthfeel. Sweet roasty malty alco liqourice dark fruity flavour, sweet well lasting liqourice roasty malty dark fruity finish. Alcohol quite noticeable. Good stuff!

Draught @ BBF’11:
Brown head on top of a black beer.
Smell medicine, elastoplast and a hint of roasted malts and spices.
Taste is way better than smell, really spicy, roasted malts, warm, coal, smokey, burned wood, tar and liquorice.
Good and firm bitter aftertaste of liquorice
Low to medium carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture.
Heavy spicy taste but well balanced.
They hid the alcohol very well!

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival @ De Molen, Bodegraven. Pitch black, opaque color, light brown head. Smell alcohol and some liquor, peat smoke and roastyness. Taste heavy alcohol, peat, smoke and roastyness. Strong carbonation, but somehow still a soft mouthfeel considering the 39%ABV. Full body.

Draft @ 3th Borefts 2011. A pitch black colored beer, with a dark beige/brown head. The aroma of peat, some tobacco, burned malt, with wood notes. The taste of peat, wood, alcohol, burned malt. A little burny. The aftertaste is bitter for a while, peat and some notes of alcohol.

Pitch black and very thick. Aroma of whisky, wood and leather. The black albert can not really be retrieved in the taste. The taste is very much overwhelming with a whisky taste.
