4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
75cl bottle at home from ’t Drankenhuys. Very dark brown with a tiny off-white head. Full body with low carbonation. Sweet and boozy with bitter tones. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, yeast, vanilla, some dark fruits, little bit of grapefruit, spices, licorice, raisin and bourbon. A very rich full bodied brew, which is quite awesome!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
75cl bottle @ the 5th Shrewsbury Bottle Share May 14, courtesy of me. Last beer of the night and I have to say things got a bit blurry by this point. Pours a deep black, taste produces strong leavy hops, a touch of barley wine, damson sour fruit, boozy slick mouthfeel. I have to say I expected it to be a bit heavier than this. Some dark chocolate and bitter liquorice make an appearance, alongside a touch of herbs before my all-too-small allowance was up. Looking forward to Coffee Club at the next share!

Cheers to Mat for bringing the cork and caged 0.75 litre bottle to the 2014 May Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange, four of us shared the experience of the brew.
Pours a deep brown to black with a tanned topping. Dark, dry chocolate notes dominated the aroma and taste for me, plenty of vanilla, liquorice and dark fruit hints too, but the dark chocolate held forth even when some whiskey flavours started to appear as the beer warmed a little. Very interesting and a worthy last beer of the night. My second Black Damnation and I’m keen to try more should I get the chance.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle 750ml at home, into a big tulip glass. ABV 12%
Looks impressive with its almot totally black coloured body, its shades of ruby red where the light manages to pass through and with its tall and thick brown head. Really good retention too, it never actually collapses, but it persists in the form of a thick layer of foam on the beer’s surface. Heavy lace that creates a dark brown wall around the glass.
Aroma of chocolate, hops, light vanilla, booze, dark roasted malts, some smoke too, all nicely blended together.
Wow, what a great taste! Lots of whiskey notes, vanilla, alcohol that intensifies all the flavours, roasted malts towards the finish, plenty of wood, hops struggling to surface, really great!
Full thick body, carbonation on the right levels, good dryness on the palate, smooth and silky texture.
Not much to say about this beer, a total must!

Massive light super whippy head. Super complex. Medium to full in the mouth with some lightly rich light earthy salty chocolate. Tightly structured and soothingly warm. Excellent length. Well made.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle (750 ml). Shared by gEUS, thanks! Dark brown with reddish reflects and a medium brown head. Aroma is boozy with bourbon, fruity notes, vegetables roasted malt and solvent. Taste is sweet and overly boozy with "green" notes, roasted malt, fruity and bitter finish. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Dry finish. That’s kind of gross. Too sweet, too boozy, too fruity. Call me "weak" if you want, but this isn’t drinkable.
