3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown color. Big charcoal, oak, marshmallow, nutty, dark chocolate nose. Very distinctive. A bit thin body with charcoal, cherries and dark chocolate, but it is a bit sour. Lingering charcoal cherry finish. Nose promised more than delivered.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from fata2683. Thanks my friend! Pours a dark brown with barely any head. Roasted malt, coffee, and a light note of red wine. Flavor is subtle but delicate and quite nice. Coffee, light tartness, light hints of raisins, and again some red wine notes. If you are looking for an imperial stout or big huge chocolate bomb, this isn’t it. But if you want an undestated and delicous take on the style...this is it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottled) Very dark reddish brown with a tiny, beige head. Strongly licoricey, sweetish-malty aroma with dried fruit and tarry notes. Flavor is sweetish, salty-licoricey, very slightly tart, and with low bitterness. Alcohol well hidden. Medium body, a bit watery palate with almost flat carbonation. Nice aroma, one of my favorite styles, and better than a too burned IS - but somewhat watery and boring flavorwise.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark, almost black coloured beer with a creamy but kind of airy brown head. Deep roasted malty aroma. Full roasted palate. Finish is full malty, bitter roasted coffee creamy with a long ibtter roasted dry finish and some light ripe fruity hints. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (dregs)... Murky, dark brown ale with a small, fizzy, light beige head. The nose is chocolaty and earthy… mildly funky. Medium-bodied with gentle carbonation. Tangy and sweet; earthy and chocolaty. Lightly bitter in both the flavor and finish. Kudos to mcbackus for sharing the bottle!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Courtesy mcbackus. Pours a dark and murky chocolate mahogany color with a thin, swirly, tan head. Minimal, spotty lacing is scattered about the glass. The aroma is quite nice, showing rich choco-nougat sweetness, robust coffee roast, vanilla, and a mild, dry, oaky tartness. Flavors are considerably different, with buggy, soured oak asserting more of that tart tanginess that seems out of place amongst the cocoa and coffee richness. Likewise, the body falls short of expectations, feeling a bit too thin for the style, though it is silky and smooth. In short, this one looks and smells great, but disappoints otherwise.

Nice smokey porter with a slight bit of tartness in both the aroma and flavor. Very good.
