Old rating. From 33cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow golden with a tiny off white head. Aroma of citrus, nettles, a little floral and herby. Flavour is light sweet, moderate bitter, slight umami. Medium bodies with moderate carbonation.

Happy to see the maestros at Struise playing around in the moderate alcohol range. This one is a deep golden ale with a big, resinous, somewhat fruity-spicy hop nose, firmly sticky-bitter with a residual sweetness to match... Not as attenuated or dry as a traditional saison, more like an American pale ale with hops and yeast switched out. Light resinous bitter aftertaste that builds, somewhat roughly hopped. Would love to see them keep playing in this realm, but they have a lot of other playthings.

Medium to bigger sized, lively and quicker settling down, creamy foamy head on top of a hazy murky yellow colored beer.
Aroma is a special mix of yeast, meat, wet stone, flowers, urine, sweet wood, herbs and cloves.
Flavours of yeast, tea herbs, wet stone, cloves, sweet wood, some malts, some herbs and light spicy tones, light hop sprinkle and a crispy bitter tone.
Aftertaste is a mix of yeast, cloves, some bitters, some herbs.
Low carbo, soft light creamy mouthfeel, good medium body and a texture between creamy and watery.
Wow, that saison yeast does makes this beer both complex and a bit strange herbal.

Bottle, Chester Beer & Wine. Hazy yellow purrr with a generous white head. Nose was yeasty, with malt and citrus notes. Flavour was similarly yeast driven with a little spice and citrus. Dry bitter finish. Not the finest hour from Struise, but it grew on me. Bit like my belly.

Very hazy gold beer, little white head. Palate is crispy and a little dry. Bretty start, quite strong. Mild orange - lemon citrus underneath. Then dry seltzer and brett minerals dominate. Dry finish.

Pours a clear pale straw colour, with a large frothy head that supports itself from the lively spritzy carbonation. Slightly swimming-pool watery aroma right from the outset. Some hints at being a blonde. Then slightly citrussy and lemonadey. In the mouth it’s crisp, plenty of lemon in the retronasals, and some earthy yeastiness in the retronasals. Taste matches what I think of as being Struise’s pale belgian ale fingerprint. Odd blonde/saison hybrid. I can see Soy yeast in this if I squint my tastebuds. A bit watery or lemonadey. Finish does have a very nice noble hoppy bite, which segues subtly to a very fatty late finish. Adding some yeast gives it a rush of citrus in the aroma, removing the wateriness, and adding more saisiny spiciness, but mellows the taste a bit, and fills out the texture, making it smoother. Adding some more yeast adds a minty freshness to the aroma too, adds some more light grains to the body, and again makes it a bit fuller and smoother. I’m adding points with each splash of yeast. The glass with no yeast now seems to have some alcohol to it compared to the cloudy one. Conclusion - pour this with at least a haze, but cloudy’s good too. Too much yeast, and you end up with too much yeasty earthiness, but I think that’s better than the 100% clear pour. Don’t think the hybrid worked, but it was a fun journey, and definitely not a failure.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy golden yellow colour, fluffy white head. Aroma of straw, yeast, dry pale malts, lemon. Flavour is yeast-dominated, a bit of dead yeast/plastic, nice dry and floral malty, a little lemon, dry bitter finish. Light-bodied. Gets better and gains more depth with every sip. Nice.

Bottle. Pours a misty, pale beer with a nice, typical Struise-like white head. Aroma has a lot of citric influences mixed with a lot of yeasty characters as well. Flavour returns loads of the yeastyness, being a bit sour. Lemon is also present. Gets more balanced when warming up, giving away flavours like sour apples. I’m not so impressed with this beer from Struise..

Cloudy yellow with a small white head. Nose is citric, herby, yeasty and floral. Body is light, carbon enough, texture thin. Taste is refreshingly citric. Fruity, citric, grapefruit, pepper and French hops palate. Very refreshing and light one. Citric aftertaste. B@H
