4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Inky black pour with a thick dark tan head. A rich, molasses and cocao aroma set me up for a satisfying molasses & dark chocolate flavour with a substantial vanilla and oak undertow. The Bourban is clearly there but the beer is first and foremost a very very large stout. The alcohol is very well hidden and the strength is given away more by the thick and full mouthfeel than any kind of heat. I loved this beer and found it extremely satisfying on many levels. Extreme yet balanced, this is one I’d recommend

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled. Black colour with a large and creamy light tan head with a good lasting. Aroma is malty, toasty, sweet, spicy. Flavor has red fruits notes, cherries are present, slightly sweet at the beginning, toasty and roasty malts, coffee and bourbon notes, hints of wood. The final is light sweet and slightly bittery giving a good balance, wooden and alcoholic notes with a coffee aftertaste. Smooth, creamy and dense on palate. Low carbonation with a high body.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a tuilé black (brown rim) with a quickly dissipating milk chocolate-like head. Aroma is mostly alcohol with a well-hidden roastiness. Taste is sweet with not much bitterness and a little burn. Flavors are mostly burnt grains and alcohol. Palate is nice and creamy with ample carbonation. This is good beer, bro.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled in Frape in Mestreech. In fact black colour with huge brown foamy head. Roasted nose. Aroma is roasted malts, burned caramel and bits of alcohol. Flavour is alcohol, liquorice, toffee, burned caramel. The only negative side is the rather sweet finish.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thick dark brown black colour with creamy golden head. Aroma is booze, whiskey barrel, dark malt, roast, bit of coffee bitterness. Taste is nice, lovely Black Albert taste. Too drinkable for 13%. Smooth and bit thick. Touch of smoke, bit of roast bitterness, some cream but subtle. Hint of booze in the background but more in the smell than the taste. Really like this one. Bit of fruitiness there too. Dark choc, lovely. Subtle but powerful.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (330 ml). Pitch black with a small to medium creamy and thick brown head and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and very subtle notes of bourbon. Taste is moderately sweet with heavy roasted malt (acidic notes), dark fruits, mild chocolate and, again, subtle notes of bourbon. Mouthfeel is creamy and oily. Alcohol is completely hidden. Very good balance. I recognize that this is a really good beer but it’s not my kind of Imperial Stout... there’s just too much roasted bitterness for my liking.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black color, light brown color. Amazingly sweet bourbon nose with dark chocolate, treacles, dark fruit, espresso. That nose is so amazing. Full body, the bourbon is much more subdued in the mouth, tons of dark chocolate, treacles, very full bodied. Creaminess. Very interesting. Alcohol is so well hidden. I just felt it could be one step better and be something really really special.
