Previously 13% abv, 11% abv from 2014->. Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

Sampled at Brews For New Avenues 2015 - Pours black with a creamy tan head. The aroma has chocolate, vanilla, smooth roast, cream and cacao. It has a full, but sharp body with sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with licorice, cacao, green apples, minerals and black patent malt. The finish has some earthiness and oak. Pretty nice.

’12 vintage. Bottle says 11%. Opaque black with thick coffee crema color head. Nose of molasses, some wood, dark chocolate, espresso, and vanilla but mostly molasses. Taste follows with some dried and stewed prunes. Sweeter style. Great stuff.

Bottle from JefVerstraete, thanks! Thick and oily, with the alcohol warming the throat and the roast balancing the sweetness. Chocolate liqueur with notes of wood, dark grapes, port wine. Quite woody, with a coffeeish finish. Light bourbon, infused with brown sugar in the aftertaste. Lovely stuff.

Draft. Black. Bubbly light brown head. Very sweet. Bourbon and chocolate. Different from its peers somehow, not at all like most BA stouts. Dark cherry. Brown sugar. Finishes dry and somewhat woody. Bba is secondary. Smooth. No booze whatsoever. ..crazy! Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Dangerous.

Pours near black. Aroma of bourbon (but not overpowering), dark malts, soy sauce, and booze. Taste is sweet with candy chocolate, dark fruits, raisins, and more booze. A little sticky, but not overly heavy.

The nose on this beer is a 12 / 10. Nose and mouth is coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, light chocolate covered raisins throughout. Alcohol pretty much present thought. ---Rated via Beer Buddy App
